"Tough is a Mother's Love"
A Snow Micro Story
She woke to the sound of pounding on her front door. She could hear dispatch on their radios. Heart racing, as is her mind, all she can think is something really bad has happened, why else would the police be at her door in the middle of the night?
"Ellen Cooper?"
"Are you Ellen Cooper?" They ask as the light of their flashlight nearly blinds her.
"Yes, I am!" "What is wrong?" She pleads, afraid to hear, but desperate to know.
"Do you know where your car is Ma'am?"
"Of course, I do, for heaven's sake, it's parked in my garage."
She no sooner got the words out when she noticed tire tracks in the snow... Leaving her garage.
"No Ma'am, your car has been involved in an accident and needs to be moved before it is towed. The driver has been transported to Valley General Ma'am".
"Is it my son?" She wails as tears pour down her face.
"If your son is Robert Cooper then, yes Ma'am".
White noise runs through her head and she feels her knees go weak. She fears the worst as she pleads...
"How bad is he hurt officer, was anyone else involved?"
"Please, calm down Ma'am, your son appeared to be fine, he just needs to be examined, he lost control in the snow and hit a tree".
She gathers her senses enough to phone the hospital. As she ends the call she firmly states "And today is a good day, for tough love!"

"The Truth in a Snowflake"
Have you ever heard a snowflake? If you listen carefully you can, waking me, they whispered, we are falling, falling fast, reaching a crescendo that will not last. You know they will never lie. I know this to be true. I sat in awe of their beauty as they fell last night, while they soothed my broken soul. With the melody in their song, they sang me back to sleep. I looked for them when I awoke, there was not one to be seen. How can such beauty disappear, leaving not a trace? Instead, a tear runs down my face sent in the snowflake's place.

The Moon is Full of Drama
I have been taking pictures of the moon for almost 20 years now. That's a long time in photography years. (What are photography years? That will have to be a whole other article). So the statement I am making is, why is the moon full of drama? I guess my reverse question to you is, how could it not be? Look at the picture above for example, this image screams “I am ready for a night out on the town” It has glitz and glam and all the makings for an evening of fun. I took this image as a few different shots, some out of focus of the stars, and then of the moon, blended to give you a feel of depth. It is a fun little photography trick.
