"The Truth in a Snowflake"

Have you ever heard a snowflake? If you listen carefully you can, waking me, they whispered, we are falling, falling fast, reaching a crescendo that will not last. You know they will never lie. I know this to be true. I sat in awe of their beauty as they fell last night, while they soothed my broken soul. With the melody in their song, they sang me back to sleep. I looked for them when I awoke, there was not one to be seen. How can such beauty disappear, leaving not a trace? Instead, a tear runs down my face sent in the snowflake's place.

Silly man, how did he feel as he snuck from my bed leaving a path to trace as he crushed each snowflake's face? Making his way to share himself and drink of her smell as he kisses the small of her back. Did he think he would not be tracked? Had he not stayed so long, he would have seen I had followed his path. When he made his way back smelling of sin, my swollen belly, evidence of where he should have been, pressed against his back. He thinks I believe he has been here all night, but me and the snowflakes know this ain't right.

And just as the snowflakes dissipate so will my love for him, leaving not a trace of the tears that ran down my face as he continued to sneak from my bed, making his way to her place!
