Love's spark ignited, our hearts entwined,

A fiery dance in your eyes I'd find.

You slipped into my soul, a whispered vow,

A single glance turned my world somehow.

Your hair, a golden cascade of flame,

Beckoned me closer, whispered your name.

But your crimson lips, a stop sign bright,

Yearning restrained in fading light.

Our hearts bloomed, a joyous start,

A world we built, a beating heart.

Laughter echoed, a life we shared,

Responsibilities, a burden bared.

The sun dipped low, shadows grew long,

That blooming heart began its wrong.

Joys retreated, like dreams astray,

Responsibilities held us at bay.

The once warm home, now cold and vast,

A lonely echo, a love long past.

On my own chest, a message I wrote,

A silent plea, a love with a note.

You crumpled it, a paper sigh,

A teardrop fell from my hidden eye.

Did you not feel its desperate beat?

A love so fierce, bittersweet?

Each pulse for you, a burning fire,

Forever yours, a heart's desire.

My eyes, Kannamma, search in vain,

For your presence, to ease the pain.

My spirit soars with every thought,

Of your beauty, a vision sought.

Half-closed eyes, a silent plea,

My gaze both longing and weary.

Kannamma, my love, where did we stray?

Is this the distance love must pay?

Kannamma: A Tamil term of endearment.
