Maya gazed at her appearance in the mirror, the natural face glancing back at her, outlined by her chaotic twists and tired eyes. She had recently turned 35, and the heaviness of her unfulfilled dreams hung intensely on her shoulders. The pain often stays with us for awhile, reverberating throughout our daily lives and follows us into the future. When our pain over the actions of another has stayed with us this much we’ve found our way into a web of bitterness. Often times that bitterness makes us want to seek vengeance, but we need to talk about why holding on to bitterness and a list for vengeance is fruitless and a waste of time.

The Month Of April Isn’t for the weak in my home. For The last 5 years watching my son with Autism suffer with Disassociation Identity Disorder is the hardest thing to watch and the trigger month seemed to be in April. It was more consistent, and more intense. It becomes the month where my patience is really tested my son doesnt see me as his mom the protector he see me as the one that has harmed him. I could recall when the therapist finally took me seriously when I told her the first time it happened.
