Part 1 The Necklace

There was George, whose parents died in a car crash. Now, he’s an orphan. In his despair of losing everyone he loved, he trashed his parents home. Then he found a necklace, it was gold with an emerald stone in the middle. Underneath the necklace was a little black book. But George didn’t care about the book, he cared more about the necklace. It was gold. Ever since his parents died, he faced so many financial problems. The bank is foreclosing the house, and bills are piling up. George thought of his future. He took the necklace and went to a pawnshop. He met the pawnshop owner who gave him a warm smile. ‘’What can I do for you today friend?'' ''Hi, how much can I get for this necklace?’’ George was pleased. He sold the necklace to the pawnshop owner for twenty thousand dollars. He went home, packed a bag, and bought a ticket, off to somewhere far. He wants to start a new life away from all the pain and problems. He packed just the essentials and the little black book he found. He thought maybe it’s a diary he could read for the trip. It would be nice to know more about his parents. As he was riding the bus, he opened the book and to his surprise, he hurriedly stopped the bus and went back to the pawnshop. He tried to buy back the necklace, but the pawnshop guy refused to sell him back the necklace. He said that after the necklace was sold, a gentleman in a nice suit came and bought the necklace. George asked if he could take a look at the receipt. And the pawnshop guy said- ‘’What receipt?’’ So George put fifty on the counter. The pawnshop guy took out the receipt and left with the money. He found out that the gentleman’s name was Michael Bruchard. He left the store and started to search about Bruchard. It turns out he was a history professor. George went to the university where Bruchard was teaching. He waited for him until his class was over and spoke to the professor. He offered to purchase back the necklace, but the professor said it was a gift for his wife so unfortunately he can’t return the necklace back. But George knew he didn’t have a wife or kids. ‘’It was nice meeting you George. I’m sorry I can’t give you back your necklace, I hope you understand...wife and all you know..’’-Bruchard laughs.. ‘’I get it’’ -George smiled and left. He followed the professor home after his work. He planned to steal the necklace back, but the professor caught him. He told George he can’t have the necklace back and he knows very well why. They both fought. During the fight, they knocked over an ashtray with a lighted cigar on it, and it started a fire. The fire quickly grew, there were smoke everywhere. And it was getting harder to breathe. The professor lounged at him, and George fell. Mr. Bruchard, very angry and hyped told George how he envied his parents and how stupid they were to not use the necklace to their advantage. The boy was filled with rage. He kicked the professor with both his feet. The professor fell back towards a cabinet and a vase fell on his head, dropping him unconscious. George quickly scanned through the professor’s desk. He found the necklace and quickly left the scene. The firefighters, police and ambulance came. There were a crowd of people trying to leave the building. It was a perfect getaway. He went straight to the port together with all of his belongings, stole a boat and drove off to the open sea...

Part 2 The Drop Off

A week after the exciting events that had happened, the boy took the boat he stole to an island far off the coast of the Pacific Ocean where he parked the boat and gathered provisions for the rest of his trip. Without the boy’s knowledge, he was being followed in which later he learned, after he kept seeing the same man eyeballing him too many times at a restaurant and the market. During that night, George decided to confront the man to ask him what he wants. And when he did, the man told him that he wants the golden necklace. The man also told George that if he did not give him the necklace then he would not have a choice but to take it by force. George laughed and then suddenly armed men with swords and guns had appeared at every corner of the street surrounding them. He pushed the man and quickly ran as fast as he could. One of the men with a very sharp and long sword cornered him. George’s pulse was hyped, he needed to think fast. He quickly kicked some sand to the man’s face. The man screamed in pain. George throws several punches to the man knocking him unconscious. After that he ran to a crowded place to try and elude the men chasing him. He later hid underneath a canoe at the shore. He lifts up the canoe, and slowly emerges into the water. He kept walking under the water to get as far away to the island, then he dropped the canoe underwater and swam back to his boat, and sailed away. Morning came and he was awoken by a fisherman who thought that he was dead or got stranded in the middle of the ocean. He bought the fish that the fisherman caught, then cooked it in his boat. While eating, he read more about the book and he can’t imagine why would his parents hide such information. Back to the island, the fisherman of whom he met earlier was drinking at a bar, he was telling a fellow fisherman about a crazy boy who was sleeping in the middle of the ocean by himself. A man heard him and asked him where exactly did he found the boy. The next day.. George has been having troubles in locating where he was and which direction he was supposed to go. He was supposed to go north, but where is north? He did not have any compass. Then he thought about the time his father taught him about the stars, and how the old ones would use them as a guiding system. And so it was simple, he would have to wait for nightfall and let the stars lead him to the right direction. Night came, he followed the stars and kept travelling north for hours. Using the moon as light he later found an island, he anchored his boat and slept.

Part 3 The Snake Island

Morning came, and when the boy woke up he found the professor sitting across the boat, smiling. ‘’You are a hard thing to catch boy, I’m going to need my necklace back.’’ ‘’It’s not yours and you will never find it.’’ -George said. ‘’You know I am going to need that necklace now, it's the only key. Or I could just easily kill you and take the key. I’m sure it’s around here somewhere.’’ ‘’I want a deal.’’ -George. The professor and his men laughed. ‘’You are not in any position to do so boy. Now hand it over, or I will blow you up just like what I did to your parents.’’ The boy was shocked and very angry, he attacked the professor but one of the professor's men stabbed him in the gut before he could get any closer. The professor laughed and they pushed him off the boat. ‘’Turn this boat upside down, burn it for all I care. Find me my necklace!’’ The professor and his men left towards the island. Few minutes later the boy was pulled to shore by one of the inhabitants of the island. She treated him by burning the wound to stop the bleeding. George fell in and out of consciousness for three days. The professor tore apart his boat and still... there was no necklace. On the third day George had finally woken up. The native woman asked him what happened to him and why the other white men had torched a boat. She said the guy with a burned face was very upset, and kept yelling. He was bossing everyone around about finding a necklace. George chuckles and took something out of his underwear, then he said- ‘’You mean this?’’

The lady laughed and asked him ‘’’why do they want the necklace?’’ A treasure, it’s hidden in the island somewhere. The necklace has the map and it’s also the key. The lady replied- it’s not a treasure they look for but a curse according to my father... ‘’Not according to my book.’’ -George grinned. “Any man who is motivated by greed will die by his own hand’’ pretending to be her father. ‘’Alright wise one, I’m out of here. I need to find the treasure before Bruchard and his flying monkeys do.’’ ‘’You won’t survive, not alone.’’ I’m listening, what do we do then? -George. ‘’If I help you;.. You will give us half of the treasure and you will help my people settle away from this place.’’ ‘’ Excuse me!? Half?.. You are out of your mind lady.’’ -George laughs. ‘’Then good luck finding the treasure on your own and surviving those men. You know, the jungle is a very dangerous place… My people are dying here...the snakes are killing our crops and livestock. It also attacks us; many have already died…’’ ‘’Damn it, now you’re just trying to make me feel guilty.’’-George. ‘’Is it working?’’ ‘’Yes. Alright, this is the plan. You will bring me to Bruchard tell him you found me on the beach. Then promise him that you will take him to where the treasure is. Tomorrow night, hold a feast. Put this into the drink and make sure none of your people drinks it. Once they all pass out we will tie all of them and take their guns. And then we’ll take their boat and the treasure to get out of here. “That plan was brilliant boy, almost perfect. Too bad I found you first. Men, tie them up and bring me the necklace.’’ ''Yes, Sir.'' ‘’You won’t get what you want Bruchard, I will never let that happen.’’ -George. ‘’You, shoot that boy and bring me the girl.’’ ‘’Don’t you touch her! She has nothing to do with this! Stay away from her Bruchard!’’ ‘’Hahaha... Any last words boy? -Professor. ‘’Not him but I do, Asuntie! Then an arrow hit the henchmen on the head. The professor was shocked, with fear and anger. The natives and the Chief came out, from the shadows.. ''Are you alright daughter?'' ''Yes, father.'' Father!? I did not know she was your daughter. I would never-... Never what Mr. Bruchard? I think this conversation is already over. You are no longer welcome. I want you, and the rest of your men to leave the island this instant! ''I’m afraid I can’t do that Chief.'' Bruchard pulled a gun out; but suddenly a snake bites him on the feet. George saw his chance and was quick on his hands, he threw an axe on Bruchard. The axe landed on Bruchard’s chest. Bruchard drops, together with his gun and bleeds out on the sand. His men dropped all of their weapons and surrendered. George and the Chief used the necklace and the book to find the Islands treasure. He kept his promise to Nita and helped her people. The Island flourished. Tourism and trade are high. Schools, hospitals, and businesses opened all around the island. George moved to the island and married Nita. One day, he found Nita dead with snake bite in their home and a box on his table with a golden ring inside and a note ‘’See you soon…’’
