The stage is set. . the time is right. . all that's missing is YOU!

Sitting here. . thinking about how much fun it is to share with all of you the many exciting adventures experienced in Costa Rica by so many people. Books have been written. . movies have been made. . lives have been changed by this thing we lovingly call, "The Pura Vida Lifestyle"! What a wonderful lifestyle it is!

Let's talk about one of the most popular pastimes here in the land of endless smiles. .

Daydreaming. .

Remember back in 1966. . the Lovin' Spoonful? "What a day for a daydream" was the first line of a hit song that made us not only sing along, but gave us an opportunity to sit back and transform ourselves into another mindset and perhaps even go to another place in the world. . ANYWHERE we wanted to go! To this day, I still take advantage of what I learned almost 56 years ago! The act of daydreaming has changed many lives. It may have even extended the lives of some. Because when you are in this state of consciousness, your body is relaxed. . your mind is at total ease. . your stress level is at its lowest point. If only for a few minutes, it is necessary. . it is required. . and it is available to you here in Costa Rica.

Imagine yourself on a beach. . ANY beach. Sun is shining. . the sounds of the waves ebbing & flowing. . tropical birds calling out to you. . can it get any better than this? I think not!

I wonder what the stats show us? Perhaps for every ten minutes spent daydreaming, we add three days to our life? Who can argue with that? Can it be proven wrong?

At its worst, daydreaming is good for you. A total relaxation of mind, body & spirit for a given period of time. This provides to you a total regeneration of everything of which you are made up. Daydreaming REBOOTS your core. Daydreaming revives all of the important connections that provide life for you. Daydreaming cleanses your soul and opens up your mind to many opportunities that were not there just moments before you started!

We as humans. . we require quality downtime. We have to get away from what is the norm and what is needed to a place of fantasy, where all that exists are the basics. . soothing colors. . sounds of nature. . natural aromas, like that of the sea. . pleasing moments floating in time with nothing to do and absolutely nothing expected of you. From this, we grow stronger. We expand opportunities and we create new pathways that can turn out to become a totally new way of life for us.

The wonderful thing about daydreaming is that there are no rules. The world is your blank canvas. There are no boundaries. With that said, what I've found is that I DO set boundaries. I always imagine myself in places where I am able to visit at a later date. That way, I am setting myself up for future success and can even set a timeline to go from fantasy to reality! It is much more fun that way!

This year, make it your goal to learn how to daydream. PRACTICE on your couch at home. . or sitting on a park bench. PRETEND that you're someplace else. . someplace that is peaceful, beautiful & brings joy into your life.

And then, pick a time that is possible for you to leave and find your 'daydream destination'. GRADUATE into a comfortable lounge chair, beachside here in one of the happiest countries on the planet. . You'll be glad you did. .
