NAKUPENKA

the island that is born every day

Today I want to talk to you about one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

I'm talking about Nakupenda, a strip of sand that rises today at dawn and disappears every evening at sunset in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

If I imagine heaven, I imagine it exactly like that, a strip of white sand in the middle of blue, crystal clear waters, full of thousand colored fish.

I left just before dawn on a boat that gave very little confidence and after 40 minutes of navigation we spotted it. The sun rose and the little island was slowly born. The local boys have set up an arabesque tent for the hottest hours and where we had our lunch prepared with the daily catch cooked on the barbecue.

A thousand dives, an incredible snorkeling, good food, good company and a surreal place.

If you are in Zanzibar it is one of the excursions that you just can not miss!

Any useful advice? So much sunscreen and water!
