Hottest Temperature Record for Each Month of the Year for Denver, Colorado

Denver is one of the most populated and most visited cities in the world. For all the people living in the Denver area and all the tourists thinking of visiting the city, here is a list of the hottest weather temperature records for each month of the year.

The list can be very useful for tourists visiting Denver at any time of the year. Also listed for each month are great places to visit in Denver during that time of the year.

In addition to the record hottest temperature and places to visit for each month, I'm also listing the date and year in which the record occurred. If you are not familiar with Denver you might be pretty surprised at some of the record hottest weather temperatures for each month.

The weather temperature records below date back to 1872. All the data is from the National Weather Service.

January—76 degrees

The record high temperature for January in Denver is 76 degrees which occurred on January 27, 1888. It's been 70 degrees or warmer in Denver in January about a dozen times since 1872.

Since the weather can sometimes be a little cold and unpredictable in January, a great place to visit in the city during the first month of the year is the Denver Art Museum located at 100 W 14th Ave Pkwy. 

February—80 degrees

The record high temperature for February in Denver is 80 degrees which occurred on February 10, 2017. Seventy degree days are not all that uncommon in February in Denver. 

February is another month with unpredictable weather in the city. February is a great month to visit the Denver Museum of Nature and Science located at 2001 Colorado Blvd.

March—84 degrees

The record high temperature for March in Denver is 84 degrees which occurred on March 26, 1971. It's been 80 degrees or hotter eight times in Denver in March since 1872.

The best place to visit in the city in March is the architecturally impressive Colorado State Capitol building located at 200 E Colfax Avenue in Denver. Tours are daily from 10 am to 3 pm and are free but can get busy so call for a reservation.

April—90 degrees

The record high temperature for April in Denver is 90 degrees which occurred on April 30, 1992.

April is a great month to head over to the Denver Botanic Gardens located at 1007 York Street and watch Spring bloom in the city.

May—95 degrees

The record high temperature for May in Denver is 95 degrees which occurred on May 26, 1942. 

A great place to visit in May in Denver for a walk or run or bike ride as the weather turns nice is the High Line Canal Trail that runs for almost 70 miles through Denver and its metro areas.

June—105 degrees

The record high temperature for June in Denver is 105 degrees which occurred on both June 25 and 26, 2012, and was matched on June 28, 2018. The 105 degrees is the all-time record high temperature for Denver.

As the weather stays nice in June it's a great time to visit Coors Field and take in a Denver Rockies major league baseball game.

July—105 degrees

The record high temperature for July in Denver is 105 degrees which occurred on July 20, 2005. The 105 degrees is the all-time record high temperature for Denver.

July is a fun time in Denver to cool off at the Eltich Gardens Island Kingdom Water Park located at 2000 Eltich Circle.

August—105 degrees

The record high temperature for August in Denver is 105 degrees which occurred on August 8, 1878. The 105 degrees is the all-time record high temperature for Denver.

August is a great month to visit the 16th Street Mall urban pedestrian transit mall for great shopping, restaurants and street performances located in the heart of Downtown Denver. The Denver Mint is a fun place to visit right nearby.

September—100 degrees

The record high temperature for September in Denver is 100 degrees. That record high occurred on September 2, 2019.

Only the months on June, July, August and September have had 100 degrees days in Denver.

The weather is still pretty good in September and it's a great time to visit the Downtown Aquarium located at 700 Water Street in Denver.

October—90 degrees

The record high temperature for October in Denver is 90 degrees which occurred on October 1, 1892.

As the leaves change over and Halloween nears in the city, October is a great time to visit the Denver Zoo which celebrates Halloween by offering the Enchanted Hollows Night walking experience each night during the month.

November—81 degrees

The record high temperature for November in Denver is 81 degrees which occurred on November 27, 2017. It's only been 80 degrees in November in Denver three times since 1872.

A great places to visit in November in Denver is the stone Molly Brown House located at 1340 Pennsylvania Street. 

December—79 degrees

The record high temperature for December in Denver is 79 degrees which occurred on December 5, 1939.

Celebrate Christmas and have fun in December by visiting the Downtown Denver Grand Illumination Christmas light display. Another great Christmas spot to visit is the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception located at 1530 Logan Street.
