The collegiate indoor track and field season finished its conference championship week of action. Check out our honorees who have been named the Track Stars App National Athletes of the Week.
Bailey Lear dominates 400-meters at PAC-12 championships
Bailey Lear - USC - Sophomore - 400-meter dash
Bailey Lear ran a career best time of 51.60 as she won the 400-meter dash at the PAC-12 championship meet. The sophomore improved upon her 52.84 finish last season that prevented her from qualifying for the finals. Lear finished ahead of teammate Kaelin Roberts' time of 52.06.
Seymour sweeps sprints championships at ACC indoor meet
Ka'Tia Seymour - Florida State - Junior - 60-meter dash, 200-Meter Dash, 1600-Meter Relay
Ka'Tia Seymour swept the ACC 60 and 200-meter dash championship races for the second straight year. The Florida State junior won her third straight 200-meter dash title in as many attempts. In the 60-meters win she ran a personal best time of 7.17 as she blazed by runner-up Miami freshman Jacious Sears' time of 7.25 along with the rest of the field.
Ohio State's Nwofor snatches Big Ten hurdles crown
Emma Nwofor - Ohio State - Senior - 60-meter hurdles, Pentathlon
Ohio State transfer, Emma Nwofor stole the show at the Big Ten championships. She pulled an upset when she placed first in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.07. Her previous best time of the season was 8.33. She also placed second in the high jump with a mark of 1.79. In pentahlon action she was third with 4,113 points.
UIC's Isom wins 800-meters title at HL championships
Kayla Isom - Illinois-Chicago - Junior - 800-meter run
Kayla Isom followed up her 800-meter Horizon League championship during outdoor season with a win at this season's indoor meet. She won with a time of 2:14.38. Isom outlasted Nicole Squatrito of Youngstown State with a time of 2:14.93. Last season Isom and Squatrito placed fifth and seventh respectively. Last year's winner Natalie Fleming of Youngstwon State failed to qualify for the 800-meters final.
