A couple of notes first. The money listed here is for winnings only in doubles play and does not include other earnings for singles play and endorsement money or appearance fees. The money included is all prize money won by playing in doubles alone (including mixed doubles) in tournaments plus any bonus money won.

Sania Mirza from India currently holds the record for most money won by one woman doubles tennis player in one year at $1.536 million. Sania set the record in 2015 playing primarily with Martina Hingis.

3. Latisha Chan (2017) - $1.459 million

Latisha Chan from Taiwan won the third most ever by a women doubles player in 2017 at $1.459 million. Latisha played primarily with Martina Hingis and won the U.S. Open Grand Slam during the season.

4. Martina Hingis (2017) - $1.447 million

Martina Hingis makes her second and last appearance on this list of women doubles players who made the most money in one year.

5. Kristina Mladenovich (2019) - $1.183 million

Kristina Mladenovich took huge advantage of the $1 million payout for the doubles winners at the 2019 WTA Finals winning the event with playing partner Timea Babos. That earned her a whopping $500,000 payout. Kristina also won the French Open in 2019 and was runner-up at the Australian Open and reached the semis at Wimbledon.

6. Timea Babos (2019) - $1.179

Playing with partner Kristina Mladenovich for almost the entire year, Timea Babos also won the 2019 WTA Finals giving her $500,000 for just that win. As noted above, the massive $1 million doubles payout at the WTA Finals will change this list almost every year going forward.

7. Aryna Sabalenka (2019) - $1.153 million

Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus had a great year in 2019 making $1.153 in doubles play alone. With playing partner Elise Mertens, Aryna won the 2019 U.S. Open in doubles and reached the semis at the French Open. Aryna also won the lucrative doubles titles at both the Miami Open and at Indian Wells in 2019.

8. Elise Mertens (2019) - $1.152 million

Playing with partner Aryna Sabalenka for almost the entire year, Elise Mertens wracked up $1.152 million in doubles earnings in 2019 by winning the same events listed above. Aryna and Elise each also won $100,000 playing in the 2019 WTA Finals.

9. Barbora Stracova (2019) - $1.092 million

Barbora Stracova won the 2019 Wimbledon title and also picked up a huge $237,500 payday as runner-up in doubles play at the 2019 WTA Finals.

Roberta Vinci and Sara Errani (2014) - $1.001 million each

Roberta Vinci and Sara Errani from Italy played doubles together for the entire 2014 season winning both the Australian Open and Wimbledon and they each earned the exact same amount of doubles money at $1.001 million. They were the first two women to earn $1 million from doubles play in one year.
