The Start of a New Journey
This article is different from any that I have written on this site. My other articles usually cover things that are "breaking news" in the NBA. I also do opinion articles from time to time, but they are not yet my forte. However, I hope to do more of those in the future.
Davion MoorePublished 6 years ago in UnbalancedYankees Trading for J.A. Happ Is a Solid Move
On July 27, the New York Yankees traded utility player Brandon Drury and minor league outfielder Billy McKinney to the Toronto Blue Jays for starting pitcher J.A. Happ. This trade made by Yankees GM Brian Cashman is a move that makes a lot of sense for the Yankees despite the apparent disagreement from the fans.
J.S. VargasPublished 6 years ago in Unbalanced5 NBA Players Who Have to Prove Themselves in the 2018-2019 Season
1. Carmelo Anthony Carmelo Anthony had a rough 2017-2018 season, having career lows in almost every statistical category this season. Over the years many people have considered Anthony an all-time great player, but he has not won the awards to show it. People have also called Anthony a bad team player and that he only cares about the money. Some examples come from when Anthony said he was not coming off the bench this past season with the Thunder, or when he turned down a chance to join the Chicago Bulls in 2014 and instead stayed with the Knicks even though the Knicks missed the playoffs. This season on the Rockets is really up to Anthony. He needs to show that he wants to do more for a team instead of just score and to accept whatever role the team gives him.

Why Are You Ranking: Worst Ringless Sportsmen Listed from Ugly Golf Swing to Horrible Commentator
With the roar of the crowd echoing through the air, the smell of popcorn and beer and peanuts also give the typical sports supporter a sense of witnessing the sublime. Over time, the athletes that take to the field inspire hope, hero-worship, and admiration. But after all of the lights of the ballpark or stadium have faded, all that is left is the shell of the player and if he has not achieved the ultimate goal in his field (a championship), it’s hard to take him seriously. Though such players may have racked up considerable statistics, awards, and other accolades, if they have failed to attain at least one championship during their career, the lingering question remains: how could they run a franchise or commentate on another player who has achieved a ring (or rings) as part of his efforts? As interest in sports like baseball and football dwindle and basketball seems like a predictable affair, the sportsmen who comprise this list did not skate on ice and didn’t participate in professional individual sports. Instead, their teams looked to them to get the job done and bring their respective city home a championship. Alas, all of them have fallen short of the glory of the coveted Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, the Commissioner’s Trophy, or the Vince Lombardi Trophy, respectively. Though they put in years of practice and indeed displayed incredible skill and dedication, those trophies stood just out of reach. So, get your Shut Up and Jam video games and remember to always have laces out for, “Why Are You Ranking: Worst Ringless Sportsmen Listed from Ugly Golf Swing to Horrible Commentator."

The modern sports complex at Somers High School in Somers, New York dwarves the memory of the simple football field that once prevailed. Regardless of the evolution, a movement has begun among alumni to rename the field in honor of a giant who they credit with putting Somers Football on the map.

Seb WaddingtonPublished 6 years ago in UnbalancedAmanda Gisonni Strikes Out but Will Always Be a Hit with Me
Me and my brother-in-law got into the car in Monmouth, New Jersey last week, and it took about an hour for either of us to utter a word. My niece had just made her first start for the University of Penn. Amanda Gisonni only lasted two innings and gave up four runs. Sigh.

Long before Andrew and Matt Groll became Byram Hills’ twin towers on the basketball court, they played one on one in the driveway after school every day. The elder Groll describes the daily dates as good, competitive fun. Matt, on the other hand, had a different recollection.

First Team: 1. The Dawn of the Warrior Dynasty Three chips in four years. That sure sounds like a dynasty, doesn’t it? This is the question the likes of Shannon Sharpe, Stephen A Smith, and Skip Bayless will be debating all season long. The Showtime Lakers won 5 championships in 9 tries between 1980 and 1991. Larry Bird led the Celtics to 3 championships on 5 attempts during the same era, and Bill Russell earned the team 11 rings between ’57 and ’69, losing in the finals only once. The Kobe and Shaq 3-peat spanning from 2000-2002 might be the most compelling reason to hold off on hailing this Warrior team a dynasty, but many will try.
Lily HoffmanPublished 6 years ago in UnbalancedMelo Out in OKC
What was once the most valuable startup in the association, the Oklahoma City Thunder, is now looking shaky as they look to shed their $310 million dollar payroll and luxury taxes after signing Paul George to essentially a $290 million dollar contract. Last summer, Sam Presti looked like a genius after pulling off deals to acquire both Carmelo Anthony and Paul George. The future looked bright in Oklahoma City and they looked to have rebounded from the departure of Kevin Durant a summer ago. That future looks bleak at the moment as they move into the 2018-19 campaign. Still without much of a bench, the roster is top heavy.
