Super Bowl Sunday. Even as a diehard hockey fan, I know how absolutely sacred that day is. It's not like any other day. It's a day full of celebration, prestige, and pomp and circumstance--and that's when the game is in other cities. Super Bowl LVI emanated from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California; though, let's face it, it's Hollywood. It's Los Angeles. And it's home NFC franchise, the Los Angeles Rams, were playing in their home stadium against a Cincinnati Bengals team who exceeded so many expectations. Regarding myself, I'm always excited for the Super Bowl, but for this one, I was extra elated, as it featured two teams I was happy for in regards to reaching this big game.

1945 is remembered for the demise and Fall of Nazi Germany and the Japanese Empire, their surrender to the Allies, signifying the end of World War II. It is a year in American culture almost as important and honored as the year of her founding. September 10 was a Monday. A chicken that was decapitated on that day would become famous after going on to live another eighteen months without a head, and Marlin Briscoe, the first black quarterback of the Super Bowl era to start in the NFL, was born.

It's official the Cincinnati Bengals and LA Rams are going to the Super Bowl this weekend, Sunday kick off at 3:30pm PST. It has been a crazy year to say the least. The 2020-2021 NFL season was played in it's entirety, but the stands were completely empty. We finally were allowed to have stands full of fans back in attendance for the first time since the pandemic started. This season was also extended from 16 to 17 regular season games, this was done by converting one of the four preseason games into a regular season game. Covid of course was a problem all throughout the season across all 32 teams. The Football world lost John Madden, RIP. Then last but not least, the craziest news dropped only a few days ago. Tom Brady has officially retired after 22 long seasons in the NFL, honorable mention to Ben Roethlisberger's farewell tour this season. So now onto the big game.
