CSK vs KKR | Twitter reacts to Ambati Rayudu's stunning field work to send Shubman Gill packing
Shubman Gill took a review and survived an LBW appeal against CSK but could not capitalize on it after a brilliant fieldwork at the mid-wicket from Ambati Rayudu brought an end to his 5-ball stay on Sunday. Gill was halfway down the track before realizing his batting partner had not at all moved.
Shubman Gill has looked in fine touch during the second leg of the IPL 2021. The right-hand batsman scored 48 against RCB to help his team register a thumping 9-wicket win on September 20. However, a terrible mix up with his opening partner Venkatesh Iyer, proved fateful for him in the match 38 of IPL 2021. Kolkata have won the toss and elected to bat first against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The Eoin Morgan-led side have won their last two matches and are placed 4th on the points table.

Twitter reacts as Rishabh Pant’s bat flies towards short mid-wicket while attempting a shot
Rishabh Pant, in an attempt to take on Rashid Khan during Delhi Capitals’ run-chase against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday, lost the grip of his bat, as it flew towards the short mid-wicket region. Kane Williamson, who was fielding at the position, retrieved the bat to his counterpart. The Capitals, chasing a victory target of 135, were placed strongly at 97/2 in the 15th over, when Pant tried to take on Rashid for a boundary. The ball, pitched on the back of a length, skidded through wide outside off, and the left-hander went for a cut, only to lose his bat which went flying away to the mid-wicket region.
Rashid and wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha went for a half hearted appeal, which was turned down, before SRH skipper Kane Williamson retrieved the bat back to Pant. The Capitals eventually took the game by eight wickets, with Pant finishing unbeaten with a 21-ball 35.

However, he unknowingly ended up entertaining the fans and viewers as he lost grip of his bat.
Rishabh Pant ended up bamboozling himself off a delivery bowled by SRH leggie Rashid Khan and no the wicket-keeper batsman was not dismissed by the latter but nor was he able to dispatch the Afghan leg-spinner into the stands either. In the 15th over of the second innings that was bowled by the Afghan sensation, Pant attempted an aggressive cut shot but he completely missed the ball which was collected by his counterpart Wriddhiman Saha neatly behind the stumps as there was a huge appeal from the keeper for caught behind.

Nonetheless, the Rishabh Pant's bat had not made any contact with the ball as his stay at the crease prolonged but his aggressive cut shot attempt sent the bat flying in the air towards the midwicket area. Coming back to the contest, the Sunrisers Hyderabad were restricted to 134/9 from their 20 overs riding on a splendid bowling performance from the Delhi bowlers as only the middle-order duo of Abdul Samad (28) and Rashid Khan (22) could offer some resistance with the bat. Opener Shikhar Dhawan scored a vital 42 despite losing his opening partner Prithvi Shaw early. After Dhawan's dismissal, Shreyas Iyer (47*) and captain Rishabh Pant (35*) added an unbeaten 67- run stand for the third-wicket as the Delhi Capitals got past the finish line by eight wickets and more than two overs to spare.
Sunrisers Hyderabad played Rashid Khan, Kane Williamson, Jason Holder, and David Warner as their four overseas players, while the Delhi Capitals played Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, and the South African duo of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje as their four overseas players. SRH got off to the worse possible start, losing former captain David Warner for a duck to Anrich Nortje. Wriddhiman Saha and Kane Williamson fell for 18 runs apiece, while Manish Pandey made 17 and Kedar Jadhav made 3 runs.
Rishabh Pant Loses The Grip Of His Bat As He Tried To Hit A Shot
Delhi Capitals has a bit of a similar start as Prithvi Shaw who looked good for his 11, got out to Kane Williamson off Khaleel Ahmed. But then Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer took charge and maintained a decent run rate in the chase. Dhawan made 42 in 37 balls with 6 fours and one six. And added 52 runs for the second wicket with former captain Shreyas Iyer. After Dhawan fell to Rashid Khan, skipper Rishabh Pant walked in and began hitting the ball to all parts of the ground. While Iyer ensured no damage was done at the other end during his 41-ball 47* knock in which he hit 2 fours and 2 sixes; Pant was brutal with his willow as he made 35* in 21 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes as DC reached the target in 17.5 balls with 8 wickets in hand.
