In any case, replays affirmed Russell had a foot on the limit pad, with the resultant six for Abu Dhabi securing the game by four wickets while pursuing 98.

Discussing the game after the success, Abu Dhabi commander Liam Livingstone said, That was great to have the option to move past the line after we were basically behind the game when batting. I think Jamie batted well along with Briggs, who did well to hit the last ball for a six to give us the success.

He further added, We began well and Fidel [Edwards] was splendid with the new ball. He made some swing, which was ideally suited for him. Our bowling unit has been splendid all through the competition up until this point. The young men are progressing admirably and it has been incredible fun, much more so when a game goes last second. We thought the last ball was a six however at that point we needed to spend a restless second for the choice before we could celebrate.

The Gladiators kept the game alive when they amassed 97-9 in the principal innings. They were three wickets down for three runs in the second finished and decreased to 18-5 in the fifth. Wanindu Hasaranga played a searing thump of 18-ball 30 and Odean Smith struck hit sixes and an equivalent number of fours for a 10-ball 34 to get to an absolute they almost safeguarded.
