Cook a week worth of food on Sundays

I spend less than half of what I use to spend on food now that I only eat what I cook at home.

You would be amazed by what you can do with some time and how-to’s youtube videos. Choose a list of Dirt cheap food and get creative;

Beans, rice, ground beef 80/20, chicken breast, lentils, chicken tight, lettuce, tomato, eggs, bread, regular olive oil, oats, milk, peanut butter.

Breakfast: Oats, milk, and a banana / Peanut butter toast /Eggs and toast

Lunch: Chili/ Rice and Tights / Pasta and Chicken breast

Dinner: Lentil soup / Big ass salad with Chicken breast /Egg fried rice

Use that list, cook all your meals on Sundays and freeze them.

Stop spending money on clothes (unless it is for a special occasion).

On Amazon, H&M, or Old Navy you can get 5 nice plain shirts for less than $30. A different color for every weekday. Plus 2 pairs of shoes (white and black), Adidas, Nike, converse for less than $200.

If you choose the right clothes you can look amazing on a budget.

Don’t be that flashy guy looking like 50 cents in the ’90s.

Unfollow those influences that are always flexing their new stuff.

Let’s be real, they are probably getting paid for all those things they are “using” and you are the dumb person buying them. Don’t buy shit you don’t need just because someone you don’t even know told you that it is cool.

You find joy in the rewards you get from the hardships. Not from the materialistic things recommend by an influencer.

Ask and re-ask for coupons.

I would search online for coupons and after that call or email the store and ask them if I can get a better deal.

Just tell them that you are a student and any discount will make a huge difference for you. (It works 80% of the time, even with big companies).

Walk more.

If you have an appointment, wake up early and get there by walk. I have walked for more than 2 hours just to save money on Uber.

Another trick is to walk to get closer to your destination so you pay just a fraction of the cost.

Make saving money a habit

Save at least $1 every day. It is almost impossible to not do it, at the end of a year you will have $365 at the lowest.

Keep track of your expenses

Write down on a piece of paper what you spend per month. This is not a spending controller, it is just so you can evaluate where you are spending your hard-earned cash.

At the end of each month, look at it, and see where you can improve next month. Look for small improvements like cutting out on an app, Uber, chewing gum, anything that can help you save an extra $10.

On a final note, enjoy the little things in life, get your money right. Be creative, always look outside to box on how you can save some more, $1 might not be much but when you do it consistently it turns into $100s.

These tips can be extreme for most of you but sometimes you need to take extreme decisions to be ahead of the crowd.
