Selene sat in her seat listening to the lecture, or so it appeared, like any good little girl should. Her left hand was resting on her cheek with her elbow on the desk as the teacher droned on about the newest equations and how to figure them out. Inventories; how to keep track of the products that needed ordering, how many sold, and how to figure what the estimated profit should be.
Many young teens await anxiously to grow up. Some may prioritize friends over homework, jobs over scholarships, or relationships over their own well being. So many teenagers can't wait to fall in love with someone. They believe that having a partner means they'll be set for high school. However, they may be too young to know what love is. Or what abuse is.
Let’s just start by saying that I am proud to be part of the LGBTQ+ community. It was not always like that though, and this is an early warning that it is going to get emotional. Maybe you already went through it, maybe you saw a friend go through it, or even maybe you are going through it at this very moment yourself. I am not saying all experiences are unpleasant, uncomfortable, or ugly; this is just my side of the story. I bet some other people out there had extraordinary experiences and I am happy for them.
I know what you are thinking...what love life? No, no, jokes aside; there's this forever impending doom and gloom of pursuing a potential relationship with anybody (that is unless you are a super smooth individual in which I should let you depart us now and use your wisdom rather than spend your time on this article). However, for those of you still here, I intend to pass my wisdom on.
