Lost In The Algorithm
Lost In The Algorithm Note from me: This poetry/song has darker undertones. It is a commentary on the state of our world and how we all interact with each other. Although I am also guilty of constantly checking my notifications, this poem is a reminder that there is more to life than how many likes, or clicks you get online. P.S. Please remember to take breaks from the internet. Your mental health matters.

LHS Class of 01 The Party Part 2
It was finally the day of the party at Megan's house. She had cleaned most of the living room during the early hours and organized the entire room by putting the food on the table and putting up a banner that said "happy anniversary." She accidently picked up the wrong banner which was supposed to say "congratulations." it was too late for her to change the banner and the guests were to arrive at three. As she gathered a few cups she heard her doorbell rang and saw that it was Joan with Emily, Peter, Scott and Marc. "welcome you guys" she cheerfully said to them as they entered her house. "Are we early?" Marc asked Megan as he took his coat off and placed it on a hanger. "No you guys are right on time " she assured him although it was two fifty five. "I guess you're not used to wild parties huh?" Marc asked her. "Who said this is a wild party? This is a regular party like any other and there will be no hard drinks here, you got it?" Megan said with a light stern expression. "Meg, you alright?" Joan, being confused and concerned, asked her. "I'm sorry. It's my first big party and I want it to be special. Every time there was a party, there was drinking, vomiting, broken expensive stuff and cops. All of those are the last things I need , especially here and today." Megan said to all of them. "Don't forget an unwanted guest or two." Marc whispered to Emily and peter. "Huh," Megan said, confused barely hearing what Marc said. An hour later the party actually began when several guests arrived at the house. Megan had lowered the music on the music player to avoid noise complaints and kept her guest list on her to see who was coming. As she and Joan went to the kitchen to get the drinks, Francis entered the house with Valerie and they were not happy with what they saw. "You call this a party? it's more like those geek clubs after school with terrible food" Francis said upon entering. "Why did you two date again?" Valerie asked him. Joan exited the kitchen and saw them and was not very happy. what are you two doing here? she asked them, very angry. "Relax, we didn't want to come to your little boring party anyway. we stopped by to see what it's like and it's not so much." Valerie told Joan. "So we're not staying?" Francis asked Valerie. "We weren't invited, remember? And it's not that good." Valerie whispered to him. In the kitchen Megan took the drinks out of her fridge and Peter came in seeing her carrying two bottles and a bag of nacho chips. "Let me help," Peter went to her and carried the two bottles. "Thank you Pete," she said happily. "No problem" he said as he held the bottles. "Oh Francis and Valerie are here." "What?" Megan became shocked after he told her the news. She quickly rushed out of the kitchen with Peter following her. she saw them still bickering with Joan and had to excuse her from the scene. "You two need to leave right now," she said to the both of them. "Fine, we'll go," Valerie said to her and then exited the house. However before he left, Francis then knocked down the coat rack, angering megan. "What the hell?" she shouted to him as he left. "I knew he was going to do something like this, " Joan said. "I'll be back," Megan responded. She went looking for Marc throughout the house. so she went upstairs and searched every room until she reached her room. She looked around and heard some noise coming from her closet. She opened it and saw something she least expected.

Deep sea Dumbsea It was a bright and beautiful afternoon, our Carnival had just settled and pitched down for the afternoon in Birmingham, England. I was heavily pregnant and being a little or should I say , ‘big’ clumsy elephant, I almost dropped the pole for Mr Carpenter, to put in place for Tommy the flying ‘high trapeze artist’ Tommy was a kind soul, who loved all of us animal’s, I loved and respected Tommy wholeheartedly. Romus on the other hand was a devious , spiteful and cruel man; he taunted the chimpanzee so much, Mr Carpenter the Circus Owner had no other choice but to sedate them.

Ciara and Aris were sisters; daughters of Landros, the Strong. As family, the two sisters were very different from one another; and couldn't have been further apart from their father. Ciara moved as swiftly and quietly as the flowing waters along the ground; Aris could soar through the skies as though the wind carried her. Neither of the sisters could match their father in strength; and their father, stoic, strong, and impenetrable in his movements, was not nearly as sly and sneaky as his daughters. Theirs was a family affair where the God of Strength vowed to protect his daughters; and his daughters, now in their teenage years, schemed to sneak about in all of their silence.

The Devil's Woman
Imogene Keene turned the witch’s bell over in her hands, running a chewed fingernail along the rim. Her other hand gripped the riverboat railing as lightning flashed in the distance. It was just a small thing, that bell, but Imogene thought it could change her life.
