The Cabin Sprite
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. My breath fogged the truck window as I leaned against the door, admiring the gauzy veils of ice clinging to the sloped roof. It looked like something out of a fairytale –the witch’s cottage, deep in the woods, surrounded by pine and rumors of missing children.

Homesick
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. I knew we were heading there because he was a man of habit. The impulse was carved into his very being, and he was drawn to the cabin every winter like a moth to a flame. But he wasn't a moth, he was a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Setting is everything. Think about it. Most stories are simply people... in a place. As writers, we think of a place and we put people there. Or, if we think of a person, a protagonist, we very quickly place them somewhere. It could be a dying star, a haunted summer camp or a cozy cabin. All you need to do is put a few characters in a setting and let your imagination go to work.
Vocal Curation TeamPublished about a year ago in ResourcesBaker's Dozen: 13 Perfumes I Enjoyed in 2022
2022 has been a year that I've spent trying to rediscover - and reassert - who I am and what I am about, and a large part of that has taken place in the clothing and makeup departments.

It was 2:35 a.m. when the cat decided she wanted to go outside. I listened to her bang on the blinds for several minutes before I got out of bed and made my way to the patio door. I opened the door and waited for her to step out.
Scott NinnemanPublished about a year ago in PsycheThe Top 12 Books I Read This Year
I can't think of a sparkly enough intro within the stress and busyness of the holidays.... So let's get straight into it. It turns out I didn't do anything but read this year. From my Goodreads list of over a hundred books I devoured since January 1st, these books made me think long after the last page and flooded my Goodreads with five stars.
A Challenge Accepted About Christmas
And here is my response to the challenge: Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? It is Christmas Eve for me as the tree lights are much brighter and the kids are so excited to sometimes open just one gift!🎄
Denise E LindquistPublished about a year ago in ConfessionsWhen You Don't Care About Christmas
Deck the halls with lots of tinsel fa-la-la la-la la la la la Or something like that... right? Here's the thing, I don't celebrate Christmas. Why? Because I'm Jewish. Which seems like a pretty valid reason, yet the world is still screaming "Merry Christmas" in one ear and overplayed (yet catchy) jingles in the other.

UPDATE (2022–12–22): It is my intent to empower aspiring and novice writers, as well as inform them of their publishing options in the online space. In a recent post, I used language that positioned the company Wattpad in an unfair and deleterious light.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year again. The holidays are quickly approaching. Bells are ringing, mistletoe’s are hanging, and people are singing. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to look at America’s Christmas tradition as a foreigner. But that will never happen so instead I decided to take a deeper dive on other Christmas traditions worldwide. Turns out that they are quite different and worth learning from.
Under the Uruguayan Sun
Uruguay is by far the most unique and underrated country I have ever traveled to. When thinking about South American destinations, most of us automatically think of Colombia or Brazil; however, if you are considering a trip, then Uruguay should be at the top of your list. There isn’t much that can compare to the great food and scenic landscapes it possesses. Even better were the amazing memories I made while there.
Jared SheetsPublished about a year ago in WanderThe Accident Response Team Promotional Vehicle: A Marketing Case Study in How to Stand Out in Our Noisy, Busy World Today
Introduction As a strategic management consultant and professor, I can say that without a doubt, all companies - whether they are big or small, multinational or local, product or service-focused - struggle today more than ever with one thing: Gaining the attention of the people they want to become their customers. In an environment where we are constantly bombarded by stimuli, to the point where our senses can become overloaded with the sights and sounds of our modern, tech-enabled lives, marketing messages often get lost in all of the “noise.” Advertising and promotional efforts that are crucial to driving firms’ sales and revenues are often today simply lost in the milieu of our daily lives. And as such, whatever form of advertising media we are talking about, from TV commercials to social media ads to billboards and more, all of this paid promotion is easier than easier than ever for consumers to simply ignore - or to miss - with all the “noise” that is part of our very noise modern existence. This means that the marketing arms of all firms today are being challenged, more than ever before, with the task of getting potential customers to see them, to think about them, and yes, to buy from them. This also means that they must also worker harder than ever to justify all of the many dollars that go into their marketing, advertising, and promotional efforts.

One of my favorite things I enjoy doing is helping other writers build their confidence. It’s amazing to see newer writers who are a bit shy and reluctant to share their writing at first succeed and develop into confident, talented writers.

"To live is to suffer, but to survive, well that's to find meaning in the suffering." - DMX. As a writer I draw influence from many people and places, including the areas of my other passions, one of which is of course music. I've been rapping my whole life and Hip Hop is a part of my entire soul. I've done a lot of writing as a lyricist and one of my top three favorite rappers of all time has played one of the biggest roles in that lyrical influence: Earl "DMX" Simmons.
