Why Socialism isn't as awesome as it seems...

Do you know what it really means to have socialism?

Socialism- We've been told it's this great, equal and free thing. An awesome thing that is great for everyone. To some it means "free" stuff, equality in money and lifestyle for all and medical care for all. That's the front runner, here's what goes on behind closed doors.

Have you ever looked up the meaning of socialism? Here it is directly from Merriam Webster- "any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods." (Merriam Webster) Governmental Ownership- what does that mean? It means instead of you, the individual, owning things the government owns it. After socialism grocery stores become government owned, no private property, no earning money for yourself. You are taken care of by the government. Socialism is the stepping stone between Capitalism and Communism. With Socialism there is no economic freedom because everything is controlled by the government. Now, candidates like Bernie Sanders say that their "Socialism" will be different. However, that is coming from a man who praises Russia's way of life and bread lines. Remember, Russia has been struggling to keep their people warm for a long time. People have to go down the road for their weekly rations. If you put the Government in complete control, you lose so much that you didn't consider. You like voting for the next president? Maybe you want to vote for Bernie Sanders, Buttigeig or Biden. Well, under socialism that's no longer a freedom. You won't get to vote for who will be the next president. The government will decide for you. They will take away your freedom of choice and make the decison in your stead. Maybe you're pro-choice or pro-life, well if you're pro-life socialism is your worst enemy. If you're pro-choice you're fine until you decide you want kids, then the governement will tell you whether you can have them or not.

That's what happened in China when they inacted the one child law. That could happen in the USA if we have a Socialist President who is then pushing socialism. What about Medicine? That's a big argument today. Let's say USA is under socialism and your dad or you needs medicine. You'll have to wait for the government to provide it for you, because they control who makes it. You can't just go into the store and buy it anymore.

How does the economy work under socialism? Well, that's a good question. Let's compare Capitalism and Socialism-

Capitalism-

Production is owned by Private Individuals (YOU)

Companies are controlled by how much profit they make- controlled by the Owners, Managers or CEO's of the company.

The Government has a small amount of control. There are certain forms, rules, laws and steps to be taken when owning a business, corportation or company. This means that everyone has to follow the same rules, by doing this the government ensures that the companies are competing fairly and no one has the upperhand.

It means freedom for you as a private seller, maker, artist...ect. You can sell pretty much anything you yourself have made, with the proper forms and credentials you can start your own business.

Socialism-

Production and money are controlled by the Government.

Everyone works, and the money/credits that are earned by each individual are doled out equally to everyone else. That includes people who don't work, won't work or can't work. So if you go to work and make 100.00 that 100.00 is distrbuted equally amongst everyone else.

If you think that distrubuting earnings equally among everyone sounds fair, think again. The Government decides exactly how much money you get.

Basically, if you were that kid who couldn't wait to get out under your parents thumb when you turned 18, this won't go well for you. Socialism is the government acting like your parent, thinking you're too dumb and stupid to live life. They think you're too idiotic to make good choices, so they make them for you.

If you ever thought socialism was great just look at the Hunger Games and the way they live. That's what socialism is like. The Government types on top soaking in the sun and living the good life, and the serfs at the bottom working their butts off so the higher ups can live a good life.

You might be thinking, "But Medicare for all? Everyone could have healthcare." Yup and it would be just like your current government run health system. Here's an example, I can't afford the costs of Health Insurance- so I have to go through Oregon's health plan. I recently had trouble with my back and it took my insurance (Oregon Health Plan) 6 months to finally get me into surgery. When I did have surgery I was in a shared room, (which I was grateful for by the way) and had a good surgen who donated his time to Oregon Health Plan patients. I was in severe pain for almost 7-months that is what socialized medicine is like. The wait times would be insane, the care will suck and doctors will make nothing. Anything they earn would be doled back out to the community. What would their incentive be for spending 8 years getting their medical degree?? To go to college for 8 years, to study harder than anyone has ever had to study, only to come out and work for cents on the dollar?

It may not seem like life is fair, especially when you're on the bottom rung. But listen to this-

Under our current laws, you have the freedom to make yourself into anything. You can go to college anywhere, get a job anywhere, marry who you want, talk how you want, say what you want and treat anyone the way you want. Granted some of those things will get you a bad rep, and as long as you follow the laws, you can do anything. Under the Constituion you have freedom of opportunity, not guranteed success. It takes work, hard work to get the high trees. Just like climbing a mountain- no one will carry you the top you have to get there all by yourself.

The current Democratic candiates are promoting socialism in varying degrees. But no degree of socialism is good. People think they are put down because of skin color, race, gender; but you're only put down by what you let put you down. If you go for a job and you don't get it, go find another, or make your own. Rise above the struggle. Too many people don't dig themselves out of the hole they are in, but instead they let people throw dirt on them until they are completely covered.

Don't be that person. Don't fall into the victim trap. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and rise above it. Stop comparing yourself to others, no one has experienced what you have and you haven't experienced what they have. No one is the same. People struggle everyday, but the struggle makes us strong.

Be Strong.
