Why It's Not Possible to 'Drain the Swamp'

Secure Wealth and Military Power

To understand why it's not possible to "drain the swamp," you first have to go back and understand how the swamp came to be in the first place. In the earliest history of mankind on Earth, he was a hunter-gatherer. Everything he did took place on a day-to-day agenda. Basically, life revolved around hunting, eating, sleeping. The concept of governing was not even a concept. As humans evolved and became an agrarian society, they began to see repeating patterns occurring each day. First, if they didn't protect their borders—in those days they were frontiers—others would invade and loot their resources and make them slaves or kill them. Second, if they didn't plan ahead, they would not have a harvest to feed society and everyone would starve to death. So the concept of some of the individuals organizing forces to protect the territory was born. The concept of government had started, and along with all the benefits it offered came all the problems of associating human nature with power and wealth. The ability to wield military force meant the individual and or individuals in charge had the ability to vastly increase the wealth of their system. By pillaging other systems that did not have the foresight they did and protect their frontiers, the individuals in charge could make huge gains in wealth an power, and get others to do it for them.Actually, in the beginning, it wasn't quite this way. The leaders were called leaders because they actually led everyone into battle first and were seen as brave and smart, so following them was a given. As time has progressed, there is an inverse relationship in terms of the leader leading the troops into battle. Now they just sit behind a desk and order others to do it, and they would be the last to fight, but they are still seen as leaders. Obviously, someone is not paying much attention to what is going on. The second thing they had to do was organize society so that all the food would be ready at harvest time. This meant they had to hire all the people to perform the different roles. This also gave them a superior advantage over the masses because they knew in advance what was going to be bought, sold, built etc...With all that knowledge and power the next obvious thing to be created was corruption. Unfortunately, no one saw that coming. Now, fast forward to 1776 when the founding fathers created the US Government. Who were the founding fathers? Basically well-educated, lawyers, wealthy, slave owners, who stood to gain the most from what the government would do.

Fast forward almost 225 years later and who are the people running the government? Well, minus the slave owners, they are the well-educated lawyers and wealthy who stand to gain the most from what the government does. So when you look at the big picture, not much has changed since the first government was created. Well-educated, lawyers and wealthy people who suffer from human nature and are constantly tempted with deeds of corruption each day.So imagine what would happen if you actually tried to "drain the swamp" as people who are unaware of how the powerful and wealthy stay powerful and wealthy. First off, you would not be able to eradicate them all in one day. Just like it takes years to get them into office, it takes years to get them out of office. Even if you could pass legislation tomorrow that every city, county, state, and federal government position could only be served by a one-term candidate, you still would have one basic problem you will never be able to overcome.During the term where they are all going to leave, you will have all the ones running for office who are going to fill those vacancies. The supposed "clean swamp fillers." All it takes is one closed-door meeting for the people in power to meet with the people who will fill their positions to inform them of the way government really works. Then, on the day the swamp is supposedly being cleaned, all you have done is replace the dirty swamp people with a new group of dirty swamp people. The only thing that makes it difficult to believe or comprehend is that such large groups of people could so effectively and so efficiently run the largest conspiracy on the planet right in front of everyone's eyes without ever being detected.Hermann Goering said it best:

“Why, of course, the people don’t want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship…

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.”

It has been working this way since the first government was created. It has worked this way in every government that has ever been created. It will work this way in every government that will ever be created. If you can't see it then you just don't want to. It couldn't be more obvious.
