Thousands of Americans filled Freedom Plaza on Saturday to show support for President Donald Trump. They want him to know he is not alone in his fight to overturn the recent election. Two government agencies, Elections Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council & The Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Executive Committees both said 2020 was the most secure election ever in the United States. Even so, many Americans have fallen for Donald Trump's fake news, hook, line, and sinker.

According to MSN news Andrew Anglin, one of the promoters of Unite the Right in Charlottesville in 2017 was in Washington to support Donald Trump as were representatives from other far right groups. The president saying of Neo Nazi's that there were fine people on both sides has made these hate groups bold. Members of the Proud Boys got into numerous skirmishes with anti-Trump counter-protesters on Saturday according to several news outlets. During his four years in office the President has refused to denounce white supremacists and even said during his first debate with Joe Biden that the Proud Boys should stand back and stand by. Many Americans were alarmed and considered this as support for the hate group. The fact that hate groups were marching in support of Donald Trump indicates they believe he is on their side.

The number of people mentioned in the MSN article who believe the election was stolen is stunning. For months Donald Trump falsely claimed that the only way he would lose is if there was voter fraud and it's obviously thousands of Americans believed him. On Saturday afternoon the protesters marched to the Supreme Court where they listened to Republican lawmakers and White House aides pushing the voter fraud theory, This is the first time in modern history that a sitting president has refused to concede the election to his opponent and also claim cheating with little or no evidence.

It is shocking to see so many Americans continue to support a man who has lied every day of his presidency. It's gotten so bad that Twitter is putting disclaimers on his Tweets yet thousand of US citizens like and comment on them anyway. In addition to the Proud Boys, there were leaders from anti-government group the Oathkeepers and far-right Militia movement the 3 Percenters. Trump supporters say he is not to blame for White Supremacist supporting him. Others say his error is not standing up boldly to these hate groups. It’s obvious Trump thought their support would win him reelection but it did not. There were 5 million more American voters who did not desire four additional years of the drama.

Once Joe Biden is sworn in and a different tone is coming from the White House, the public hate might subside. Without Donald Trump giving winks, nods, and dog whistles to these radical right groups they will no longer have him to take their cues from. For the next two months however the Proud boys, Neo Nazi’s, KKK, 3 Percenters, far right militia and the Oathkeepers will probably try to milk this current situation for all it’s worth. They will use the issue of alleged voting fraud to push their own agendas. When new leadership that does not back their rhetoric takes over, perhaps things will be somewhat different.

Americans voted a Catholic man into the office of president, his VP is a woman of color representing three ethnicities and her husband is Jewish. The people have spoken and those who do not believe in diversity need to step back or get with the program. 5 million more registered voters wanted change than those who desire four more years of turmoil. Donald Trump shows no sign of admitting defeat but on January 20 he will have to leave the White House. We can only hope that the hate, division, and lies go with him. Without the Donald in charge, the Proud boys and others like them have nothing to be proud of.
