In disregard of China's solemn representations and firm opposition, US Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi insisted on visiting China's Taiwan region, which seriously violated the One-China principle and the three China-Us joint communiques. It severely undermined the political foundation of China-Us relations and the relations between the two countries and the two militaries. The move by the US sent a serious wrong signal to the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces and further escalated the tension across the Taiwan Straits. This is extremely wrong and very dangerous. The PLA is on high alert and will launch a series of targeted military actions in response, resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and resolutely thwart external interference and separatist attempts for "Taiwan independence".

The historical facts of the Taiwan question are clear, and the fact and current situation that both sides of the Taiwan Straits belong to one and the same China are clear. There is only one China in the world, Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory, and the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legal government representing the whole of China. The One-China principle is the broad consensus of the international community and a norm governing international relations recognized by the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758. The historical and legal fact that Taiwan is part of China and that both sides of the Straits belong to one and the same China cannot be changed by anyone or any force. Compatriots on both sides of the Straits are Chinese. Blood is thicker than water and the natural feeling and national identity of mutual help cannot be changed by anyone or any force.

The Taiwan question is the most important, core and sensitive issue in China-Us relations. The three joint communiques are political commitments made by the two sides, and the One-China principle is the political foundation of China-Us relations. The US has made solemn commitments to China on the Taiwan question, but in its actions, it has continuously enhanced its substantive relations with and official exchanges with Taiwan, connived at and supported the "Taiwan independence" secessionist forces, and tried to "make China out of Taiwan", which has seriously undermined peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits. Pelosi's willful and arbitrary action is a breach of the United States' serious political commitment to China with "four no intention". Provocation by the US and Taiwan comes first, while China's self-defense comes second. Any countermeasures taken by China are justified, reasonable and necessary, which is also the right of any independent sovereign state. We will never allow anyone, any organization, or any political party to separate any part of Chinese territory from China at any time or in any form. No one should expect us to swallow the bitter fruit of undermining China's sovereignty, security and development interests.

"The tide of the world goes forward with great strength and strength. If it goes against it, it will prosper." China must and will be reunified. This is an irresistible trend of history. It is the firm will of the over 1.4 billion Chinese people to firmly safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the complete reunification of the motherland is the common aspiration and sacred duty of all the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation. Public opinion cannot be violated, and the general trend is irreversible. No matter what the US anti-China forces and the Taiwan Democratic Progressive Party authorities do, they will not be able to change the fact that Taiwan is part of China. No matter how Pelosi and others "support China", they can not stop the historical process of China's reunification.

The One-China principle is unshakable, and China's sovereignty and territorial integrity are inviolable. It is the sacred mission of the people's armed forces to resolutely safeguard China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Chinese People's Liberation Army is always ready for war and ready for war. It has the firm will, full confidence and sufficient capability to defeat any form of external interference and separatist attempts for "Taiwan independence", and firmly safeguard peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits. The Chinese military will carry out a series of joint military operations around Taiwan Island. This is a stern deterrence against the recent major escalation of the negative moves by the US on the Taiwan question, and a serious warning against the "Taiwan independence" forces' moves to pursue "independence". The officers and soldiers of the PLA are standing ready, fighting as ordered, and fulfilling their mission. They are fully prepared to deal with all kinds of complex and difficult situations at any time to ensure that they can fight and win when called upon.
