The Overman was never a symbol of the Master Race

It's obvious when I say this: White People are not the Master Race.

I mean, have you seen Trump supporters and even the "man" himself? Not exactly the appearance of what one would call a superior being.

Yet, where did the concept of the "Master Race" that the Nazi's prided themselves on come from?

Enter Friedrich Nietzsche, the man seen above.

I will explain how the thoughts of this 19th century philosopher was turned into an ideology of hate and stupidity.

Behold, The Ubermensch

"Behold, I teach you the overman. The overman is the meaning of the earth.Let your will say: the overman shall be the meaning of the earth! I beseech you, my brothers, remain faithful to the earth, and do not believe those who speak to you of otherworldly hopes! Poison-mixers are they, whether they know it or not. Despisers of life are they, decaying and poisoned themselves, of whom the earth is weary: so let them go." (1)

Meaning?

Notice anything about this line?

There is nothing that says anything about eugenics or even about being Jewish.

From what I can gather (in my opinion) is that he is condemning those who spread lies and falsehoods or to put simply, those who would con the masses into doing stupid crap that would do more harm than good (The Holocaust being an obvious one or even the evils of Trumpism affecting Americans.)

He had a sister that lived long enough to see Hitler's rise too power and was only too willing to help

Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche, the sister of Friedrich Nietzsche. It is truly her fault behind the evil that is Nazi Master Race concept.

She was a firm believer in the superiority of Teutonic races, so much so that she married Bernhard Förster, who had the same line of thinking as she did

In the 1880's they both went to Paraguay in attempt to create the allegedly pure Aryan colony of Nueva Germania. It was a complete and total failure, so her husband committed suicide while she among the financial scandal, fled back to Germany and became her brother's guardian when he started to have a mental breakdown in 1889.

After her brother's death in 1900, she took over her brother's work and secured rights to them. While refusing public access to his works, she began perverting his work by re-editing Der Wille zur Macht ("The Will to Power") which was distorted to promote the early concepts of fascism.

As the Nazi party came to power in Germany, she became a staunch supporter, so much so that Hitler attended her funeral in 1935. She also liked Benito Mussolini.

How Nietzsche was not a Nazi

While anti-Semitic rhetoric was not uncommon during the days of Nietzsche, he very much disliked them to the point where he openly said “I will have all antisemites shot.” (2)

As I stated earlier, the concept of the Overman or Übermensch, has nothing to do with genetics.

Nietzsche states “Man is a rope stretched between animal and the Superman". Primarilry it has to do with rejecting Christianity and thus freeing the individual to become the Übermensch. This is according to the extended essay on How did Friedrich Nietzsche’s ideas influence the Nazi regime in the Third Reich? Section C, II The Übermensch under c) Nietzsche Explanation (3)

Nietzsche was also not a Nationalist or Socialist, he even hated the idea of big state government because of the way the government was during the days of Bismarck's Germany. He would have opposed Hitler's Germany.

In Conclusion

Many of you out there I know are not philosophers or even specialists in the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche (I am not a specialist either).

I merely just wanted to share with you my thoughts on how the works of Nietzsche had nothing to do with Aryan Supremacy or Teutonic Superiority or any form of Pseudoscience of the sort.

He was just another one of the most notable thinkers in history.
