Melania Trump pleads for unity for the Nation

First Lady Melania Trump recently pleaded with the nation to stop the violence. What she did not do was mention the fact that her husband is the one who started it all. Mrs. Trump was quoted as saying “I implore people to stop the violence, never make assumptions based on the color of a person’s skin or use differing political ideologies as a basis for aggression and viciousness,” she added. ” “We must listen to one another, focus on what unites us, and rise above what divides us.” This is laughable to many Americans because the President is the one who has been dividing us since before he won the 2016 election. Some are saying that he should have been the first to get the memo before she spoke to the general public.

The First Lady is dealing with her own issues due to the resignations of her two top aides. Former assistant Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, wrote a scathing essay that was published in the Daily Beast over the weekend. In it she referred to herself as an “enabler” of Melania Trump as she addressed the attack on the White House as "an assault on human life and our great democracy.” Wolkoff added, “Unfortunately, our president and first lady have little, if any, regard for either.” This may sound harsh but the Trumps have lived a life of luxury where people bow and scrape to them.

Unlike most other politicians and their wives, Donald and Melania have not lived lives of public service. They came to Washington expecting to be served. How else do you explain the First Lady remaining in New York for so long, and costing the taxpayers millions of dollars each day. Stephanie Wolkoff, was so frustrated regarding her time as the First Lady's friend and assistant that she wrote a tell-all book. In it she says she “stoked and massaged their egos and wittingly agreed to the falsehoods and poisonous lies, veiled as truths, that built this house of mirrors.”

Melania Trump for the most part has been an absentee First Lady and did not participate in activities that were part of her predecessors' lives. Mrs. Trump was welcomed with open arms by former First Lady Michelle Obama and invited for tea. There was no warm welcome or invite for tea for First Lady elect Jill Biden. The Trump's have been unconventional and neither accepted assistance from either of the Obama's but preferred to do things their own way. In addition to Stephanie Wolkoff's defection and being brutally honest, the current assistant to Melania Trump, Stephanie Grissom resigned last week, She was mortified by what the president unleashed on the nation and how the lives of the members of Congress were at risk.

I'm certain that most Americans do not blame Melania Trump for her husband's actions and hold no ill will against her. Quite the contrary, as many US citizens have been saying since 2016 that they would like to see the beautiful First Lady break free from her tyrannical spouse. All the best is wished for Melania in her future endeavors, but considering all that has transpired, she probably should have remained silent about the rioting. Her spouse was the instigator and in the eyes of most people, her words ring hollow and do not make sense.

Americans should be used to this by now as on several occasions the First Lady has made statements that seem to contradict what her husband has said or done. Donald Trump will have left a stain on this nation unlike any other president in recent history. Richard Nixon could be reasoned with and had the good sense to resign. Number 45 will remain in office until he can no longer legally do so. At this writing, there are 9 days left and many US citizens are concerned because there is talk of protests to the Inauguration in all 50 states.

No one knows a man better than his wife and this is what gives many Americans pause regarding the First Lady. She knows very well what type of man Donald J Trump is, yet wastes her time trying to defend him anyway. This is why Melania Trump's passionate plea for unity will for the most part fall on deaf ears. While she was speaking there are those who are planning more insurrection because of what her husband has brought upon us. Donald Trump is the reason his wife will not be taken seriously by most and it's a shame that she will not be remembered on her own merit as other First Ladies before her.
