2018: A Time for the People of the United States
The arrival of 2018 has the nation at a crucial position in politics as issues from 2017 have yet to be resolved. Additionally, an opportunity has arisen for Americans to flex their power of the vote by turning their eyes towards gubernatorial elections as well as the seats in Congress that are up for re-election in 2018.
Josh ContrerasPublished 6 years ago in The SwampThe Federal Reserve and a Picture of JFK
The Federal Reserve and just some random picture of JFK for the full effect. 😉 Signed into law by Woodrow Wilson in 1913, the Federal Reserve Banking Act gave control of this country's money to a small group of families. After doing so, he wrote:
Mic LeewayPublished 6 years ago in The SwampMy Political Views
For one thing, yes, I believe that the above image is definitely the most accurate representation of our current political climate: a random mess of insanity. Even though I do have a somewhat dark view of politics, I believe that there is hope in both the political and justice realms. In fact, if we do it right, there is hope to be found and the people to be served justly.
Mark RileyPublished 6 years ago in The SwampBest History Channel Original Series to Watch Right Now
As interesting as it can be boring, history has its moments. Thanks to the History Channel, a host of these most memorable and historical moments have been reimagined and catalogued in various original series, showing the vast amounts of our past that we often forget. These can include little known facts you've heard about WWII, controversies about the ancients, or mystical mysteries on the Bible still left unanswered.
Donald GrayPublished 6 years ago in The SwampMake America Kind Again
A lack of compassion in the United States has caused one of the greatest divisions in the country's history. There is a large group of people in this country who feel that they should only care for those who they can identify with, and that belief has destroyed what used to make people believe in society. We've forgotten how to trust and how to show compassion for other people in our society.
Ryan GoldenPublished 6 years ago in The SwampHitler and Trump
I know that there are many comparisons of Hitler and Trump out there, with them promoting mass deportations, using racism to come to power, and can't handle being told no or even the reality of critical situations. But have you wondered what the differences between the two of them are? Granted Hitler had Jews wear special badges and Trump wants Muslims to be forced into doing the same, but where do two of history's worst people not have in common? This is what I wish to promote here.
Johann HollarPublished 6 years ago in The SwampWhy I'm No Longer a Republican
On January 20, 2017, Donald Trump became the 45th president of the United States. While I had a few minor complaints with the inauguration ceremony itself (the fact that we, a country with a secular constitution, still require our president-elects to swear in on the Bible being one of them), my main hang-up, along with millions of other Americans’, was with the President-elect himself, as well as with his Vice Presidential selection (a staunch fundamentalist who either does not understand, or pretends not to understand, the difference between religious freedom and theocracy). I thought I’d take this opportunity to elaborate on why I used to consider myself a supporter of the now distorted and nearly obsolete Republican Party and why the GOP can no longer claim my allegiance.
Hannah SmartPublished 6 years ago in The SwampMueller Day Is Coming!
Donald J. Trump is no Superman. And, he is being investigated for reason. That said, as patronizing as this statement may be, there is a stark difference between “truth” and “opinion.”

Nicholas Kaje ArnoldPublished 6 years ago in The SwampDear Mr. President
You don't know me, so let me introduce myself. My name is Kency and I am originally from Au cap, Haiti. I am proud to be the second generation of my family to obtain citizenship to become part of this great country. According to the US Census, in 2009, it was estimated that 830,000 Haitian Americans live in the U.S. When my parents first came to the United States, they believed this country held the key to a better life for them and their children. Like my parents, many Haitians who come here and continue to come are in pursuit of a better life, economic freedom, and freedom to strive for happiness. The same freedom you seem to be taking advantage of to spread your racism.

I have written several pieces on the subject of peace. So far, none of them have managed to create a more peaceful planet, unfortunately. But I'm not going to stop trying.
Michael BlairPublished 6 years ago in The SwampFunniest Trump Political Cartoons from 2017
Donald Trump has been both good and bad for comedy. He's incredibly easy to trash, but there's such a glut of it, and he does so much dumb shit that it can sometimes feel like baling water. It can feel like everything that can be said about the President has been said by someone who said it better; and that's why the funniest Trump political cartoons from 2017 are true works of art.
