Was the Gillette Advert Necessary?
Was the Gillette advertisement necessary? The short answer is yes. The long answer is much more complicated. As a woman, this advert wasn't targeting me, that doesn't mean that the message it was sending wasn't aimed at people like me also. But let's break the advert down into sections.
Grace LynchPublished 5 years ago in The SwampProtect Our 'Vote'
For the past decade, the Democratic Party has done what is in the best interest of the middle class, the impoverished, and LGBTQ community. As the middle class is becoming more race plural, the minority vote is more important than ever but does Sen. Kamala ( KAH-mah-lah) Harris deserve "OUR" vote?

I will admit I am not a very political person. I believe all people who run for office are crooked. They only run for power and political gain.
Nalana PhillipsPublished 5 years ago in The Swamp'Build the Wall and Crime Will Fall'
The government shutdown for 34 days is costing 800,000 workers to work without pay. According to out of touch politicians this was just a bi-product and necessary turmoil to solve a national “crisis.” President Trump created this “crisis” by using language like "I believe drugs, large percentages of which come through the southern border, will be cut by a number that nobody will believe. So let me be very clear. We really have no choice but to build a powerful wall or steel barrier." Or saying that MS-13 is crossing the border raping and ravaging the people of the United States. 🇺🇸

I am not here to discuss political views on the current DACA situation. I am not here to share my view on the DACA situation. I am just venting about what it is like to be in love with someone who at any second could be taken away.

For about two years, people have been waiting on Bob Mueller's inquest into the election misconduct to come to a head. The FBI already indicted several major names in Trump's 2016 campaign crew, including Michael D. Cohen, George Papadopoulos, and Paul Manafort.
Ossiana TepfenhartPublished 5 years ago in The SwampPaul Revere's Ride
I know of few poems that have had the lasting and far-reaching effects of Paul Revere’s Ride. Recite the first line of Longfellow’s poem and most Americans will answer with the second. That is a rare phenomenon.
E.J. HagadornPublished 5 years ago in The SwampThe Seventh Amendment
The seventh Amendment has to do with the legal system at large, and how one percent of juries actually decide civil cases that fall under the jurisdiction of the seventh Amendment. The seventh Amendment is about guaranteeing the right to a trial by jury. Civil claims apply to the seventh Amendment as you are seeking financial compensation because you need to sue somebody in a civil case. The lawsuit has to be worth more than 20 dollars, which at the time of the Founding Fathers was a great amount of money.
Iria Vasquez-PaezPublished 5 years ago in The SwampThe Perfect POTUS!
Well, folks, it's that time of year. No, it is not baseball season. It is not Super Bowl season. It is time when people who breathe the same air as we do decide that they want to run for the highest office in the world. No, it is not as chairman of Microsoft. It is time for some people to declare their candidacy for President of the entire United States.
Maurice BernierPublished 5 years ago in The SwampNot "Offended," Just on the Offense
Two of the buzzwords that have surfaced in mainstream media (primarily social media) in recent years are "offended" and "triggered." It has become a joke to one particular group of people who ridicule another group that is radically different in thinking and values than themselves.
M. TomaschPublished 5 years ago in The SwampGreen Party: A Near Future Alternative
The ongoing stalemate in the Houses of Parliament would have left some UK voters questioning the loyalty to any of the three established parties. With Conservatives and Labour attempting to undermine each other rather than cross party divides to give the country the best Brexit deal possible, and the Liberal Democrats being out in the wilderness, a smaller party could try to capitalise.
Patrick HollisPublished 5 years ago in The SwampNancy Pelosi Isn't Here for Trump
"Nancy Pelosi is a badass." That sentiment is flashing across Facebook and Twitter feeds around the world right now. On January 16, Pelosi let Trump know that she would be cutting off his big State of the Union speech if the government remained closed. Trump decided that throwing a tantrum and canceling Pelosi's trip to see the troops in a combat area was the right way to deal with her. It has backfired and Pelosi is now regaining the respect of Democrats and more moderate Republicans alike.
