The Democratic Party seems to be going against the will of the people in many things, such as political candidates, and law-making. Going against the will of the people is what some believe is part of what has caused the loss of the people's trust in the Democratic Party. During the 2016 election, instead of allowing the candidates that the people were clamoring behind, the DNC decided to stomp that candidate out instead. They forced Bernie Sanders to retire from the presidential race, twice, for Hillary Clinton to be the candidate to go against Donald Trump. (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/bernie-sanders-presidential-campaign-sues-dnc-over-clinton-data-breach-n482941). Then, during the 202 elections, instead of taking the chance to bring out a candidate that the people wanted, they chose to suppress them. They decided to go with the former vice president, Joe Biden, who seems to have a pretty bad record. When the democrats took over the government, they did not do a single thing; they hadn't worked to take down some of the bad policies that came from the previous two administrations. Instead of working together with their congress and party members of the party in congress who tried to get some good laws passed, their own party blocked them. All of these things have caused the people to lose trust in the Democratic Party, and many are moving towards the Republican Party (Grand Old Party) because of this (one of the laws blocked: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/12/15/house-speaker-nancy-pelosi-opposes-banning-stock-buys-by-congress-members.html)

So, no matter what the results turned out to be during the election for president in 2020, Russia would likely still have attacked Ukraine. That's not the reason the people have lost trust in the Democratic Party. According to an article in "1945" (https://www.19fortyfive.com/2022/07/why-the-democratic-party-is-dying/), it's because "they failed to accomplish any of the things they promised, and because they can't make up their minds in regard to what their mission should be, their message lands flat, and doing the opposite of what they claim they want to do, such examples being: giving bailouts to companies that don't need it, letting wall street get away with fraud and the cause of the recession in 2008, basically doing what they say the GOP does, they also keep vilifying people instead of running for office with honesty or at least acknowledgement."

An article by Jenavieve Hatch on AOL (https://www.aol.com/news/democratic-party-losing-one-most-120000000.html), interviews were made of a few people, and they said that they're "dissatisfied with the Democratic Party, because instead of riding on solutions, the party is riding on the emotions of the people, they believe the party to be doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. African American/Black people have also recently admitted that they feel left behind and ignored by the Democratic Party".

The Medium's Lauren Elizabeth (https://medium.com/discourse/why-the-left-does-not-trust-the-democratic-party-59bd7f537c9c), says that "the left does not trust the Democratic Party after it devoted most of its time and energy into suppressing the awakening of the left that came with Bernie Sanders. Elizabeth believes that the Democratic Party would rather lose to a Republican nominee that they claim to be an existential threat. Elizabeth has seen that law makers have no interests in representing the people and would rather lose instead. The Democratic Party made it clear that even if they have full control of the government, that the American people should not expect anything from the party."

The Democratic Party has long been considered the party of the people, fighting for the rights of all Americans. However, recent years have seen a decline in the trust that people have in the Democratic Party.

The 2016 election was a major blow to the Democratic Party, with many voters feeling that the party no longer represented their interests. The lack of trust was furthered by the party's response to the election of Donald Trump, with many feeling that the party was not doing enough to stand up to him.

The decline in trust in the Democratic Party, has led to a decrease in support. People are now preferring to vote for independent candidates or third-party options, anyone but the Democratic Party. However, there are still many who believe in the party and its values, and who are hopeful that it can regain the trust of the people.

Though, after these past 2022 Midterm elections, with the GOP winning majority in the House and currently in the senate until the General elections. It may be safe to say that the Democratic Party has a very high chance of losing the presidential election, as well as its status as one of the two major political parties in the United States. While if Trump chooses to run for the presidency again, the GOP might win the White House, Should the race be against Biden in 2024. Though if an African American/Black female Republican ends up as the main nominee for the White House, then the GOP may win the presidency with an overwhelming landslide victory. However, that yet remains to be seen.

The best chance that the Democratic Party has in winning elections in 2024, if any, would be to have any of the following people: Cory Booker, Sharrod Brown, Pete Buttigieg or Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, be the Democratic nominee for president in 2024. But with their streak of suppressing candidates that the people truly want over the past 6 years, it is doubtful that they will win the White House come 2024.

If the Democratic Party does not suppress any of its candidates in the upcoming elections for 2024, and let things run out as they should during an election, then it may be possible for Cory Booker to win the presidential election, as the people are growing tired of "eccentric" presidents and are looking to have a normal presidency without any scandals on either side. Booker may bring that with his apparent calm personality. Though the presidency may end up being a bit too quiet.

However, should Booker not work out, the next candidate would be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but this may only happen if they stop looking at everything with one shade. Ocasio-Cortez has a tendency of focusing on what someone is doing at the moment, instead of looking at the why of the moment. That could be problematic for someone who aspires to the presidency. If Ocasio-Cortez can manage to stop focusing so much on the extreme side of social justice, then she may be a decent presidential candidate and even president.

The people are currently looking for more populist ideologies, and so far. So far, only one party has given them something close enough to populist ideology, and that would be the GOP with Donald Trump. However, someone like Sherrod Brown may give Trump a run for his money during the elections, as their ideologies and policies seem to be similar. Though Brown claims that Trump's populism is phony, they do have very similar ideas economically, with Bown focusing more on the worker's side. Brown may be the best option for the Democratic Party, should they really want to win the White house in 2024.

Although, there are a few candidates who could be good contenders for the White House. Them being Pete Buttigieg gained a lot of recognition when he first ran for president and that was just as the mayor of a not-so-known city in Indiana. The recognition that he could gain in his first attempt to the presidential bid, Buttigieg has the potential of outdoing every presidential candidate, including, but not limited to Donald Trump.

Should the Democratic Party truly wish to re-earn the trust of the people again, then they have to allow these candidates to be on the presidential ticket, and not suppress them like they did the previous candidates that the people wanted. They should also stop focusing on the extreme side of social justice (not saying that they should not focus on social justice, but there is such a thing as baby steps) and try to focus more on the economic issues of the middle class that they claim to protect.

While the GOP is focuses on their pro-business agenda, the Democratic Party will keep losing people if they don't work on what they promised and stop trying to force people to accept things that they're not ready to understand. They also need to select vilifying people for votes. If the GOP is focusing on helping the economy of businesses, then the Democratic Party should be focusing on fixing the economy of the worker, so that they can focus on social justice should the Democratic Party choose to pursue it after the work of fixing the worker's economy is done.
