Congresswoman Tlaib introducing the Boost Act

It’s time that America starts to utilize the endless wealth it has in mint platinum coins. In the COVID-19 era we have to evolve because the world will most likely never be the same again. Most people with active bank accounts use their debit or credit cards more than cash so the public has already been conditioned to use digital currency. This is why the “Boost Act”makes perfect sense for the people of Detroit. Detroit is furtile testing grounds for the “Boost Act” because the city had a 48% poverty rate prior to corona virus and it may likely be substantially higher because of the pandemic. It’s normal to see individuals waiting in foodlines in their cars wrapped around the corner on the daily basis at food banks and churches throughout the city. And also water shutoffs are rampant due to Detroit’s high water rates that are at least twice as high since Mayor Mike Duggan took office. Water is clearly supposed to be a human right but the water department doesn’t think so.

Congresswoman Tlaib in Deep Thought

Since the pandemic began a year ago the need for policy such as the “Boost Act” are a critical necessity. There’s people that have to get bottled water from churchs because they can’t afford to pay their water bill in Detroit. The negligence of former President Trump has left long-term negative effects in cities across the country, primarily communities of color. And centrist democrats like the mayor of Detroit just make their problems worse because he’s oblivious to the problems of the poor. There’s no logical reason to double water rates in a city with a 48% poverty rate but that’s what happened and in a cruel manner. There is no reason to raise the rent on people that hardly have anything to begin with but that’s what happened. The “Boost Act” will provide people with an opportunity to take care of their families that loss their job forever because of the pandemic. It’s ironic that the suffering of the poor people of color is a normalcy in every major city across the country and the pandemic only poured gas on the raging blaze.

Republicans only fight socialism when it doesn’t benefit them. When the collection plate of corporate welfare is passed around for billionaires that are countless times more wealthy than an average family of color will ever be no one cares. Everyone seems to look the other way when this happens and centrist dems have been guilty of letting billionaires skate on paying their fair share as well siding with the republicans time and time again. Our government always finds the money for pointless wars because it brings in the big bucks but helping people in need is often taboo! We wouldn’t need policy like the “Boost Act” if we lived in a society that wasn’t built on poor people losing so billionaires can continue to win undisturbed. And the people that stand against the “Boost Act” are walking around in suits that cost thousands of dollars that’s a pure atrocity! It seems as if the wealthy are waiting for poor people to die off so they continue to gentrify and drain the lifeblood of Detroit. Anybody that stands for truth is made public enemy #1 in this city. The politicians that fight for the people that elected them to office are in the greatest danger of losing their seat because a challenger that is heavily funded by centrist dems is likely to appear to take their spot and they’ve never stood on a picket line once in their lives.

Congresswoman Tlaib Engaging Audience

American government needs to ask itself do people still matter or only profits? What about the parents that can’t afford to buy diapers and formula for their newborns and infants? Wouldn’t the “Boost Act” be a bandaid to people that are bleeding to no end since this terrible pestilence started? At least $4,000,000,000,000 at one billion dollars per day was spent on the pointless war in Iraq and the “Boost Act” is only asking for half of that to feed millions of families! It would also help them keep their bills paid because the banks want their money for mortgages and landlords want their rent money no matter the storm they must get paid. It’s business to them they usually have families as well so they’re not empathetic all they understand is compensation.

Congresswoman Tlaib Speaking to the Press

Congresswoman Tlaib came into office in the third most poverty stricken congressional district in the country. And when she makes provisions to help people in need these trust-fund baby republican politicians and turncoats dems block it because they’ve lived an entire life worry-free from the spoils of generational wealth and they can careless that people are hardly making it. Everyone wasn’t so lucky to start out at the finish line. The “Boost Act” will deliver much needed financial assistance to the most vulnerable in the 13th congressional district. If America is really the greatest country in the world it’s time for us to prove it and take care of our people and stop treating our residents like they asked for the corona virus to change the trajectory of the planet for the worse.
