Can Writers Be Political

I was scrolling down the sidebar and the title "Can Writers Be Political" came up somewhere in the stories. Instead of going through it, I wished to put my words on the given topic, as I believed it is one of the most significant topics that need to be discussed. Had I read it, it would have affected my opinion and that is why instead of reading it I am writing on it.

Can the writers be political? Let’s break this question into parts and then analyze the case. What is politics perhaps the only purpose of politicians is to gain power by electing to the legislature and executive. But that is a very narrow definition of politics. The word Politics bears a more wide and significant meaning than merely spending money on elections for securing membership of the parliament. Having said that the question perhaps has become more complex so if we can’t confine politics to the political arena of parliament and central state’s activities then where else can it be found? Well, that is everywhere. Yes, everywhere and that means between father and son, there is politics…both are struggling for dominance. Between wife and husband, there is a continuous struggle for dominance, for achieving power. And same is the case between brothers, families, tribes, and countries, etc. Each one of them seeking dominance and power to overcome or keep tame the other party. This is what we call politics.

Now let’s come to writers. Writers are the wheels through civilizations are run and history is preserved. These writers had more importance today than they had yesterday. The human race has become more dangerous than they were yesterday and the bad things have exceeded the good ones, though seemingly humankind has got more knowledge and education and can be recognized more civilized than they were in the past however the tools and instruments of destruction have also increased to a level unknown to history. And these instruments of destruction can annihilate humankind in minutes if given to bad hands or misused. The persecution and atrocities around the world based on race, religion, and language are never-ending and this is what is done for politics or is politics.

Writers as mentioned above are the true source of communication from one era to another and that is why they have got indeed a very decisive position in shaping the intellect of humankind. Therefore, our answer to the title question dual. The first is that the writers being individuals are already in politics and are political as whatever they view, they strive to dominate their point of view and want everyone to accept it. Secondly, the political system today is so entrenched in society that if the writers want to write on the economy, religion, culture or any other subject they primarily remain political as each point has its roots in a way connected with politics.

I believe that writers are political and they should be political,. Given realistic outlook of the modern man the peace of world is endangered. And by putting words of justice, love and peace the writers can maintain peace and develop humankind both physically and intellectually. long live political journalist and writers who oppose the evil policies and keep us aware of the inhumanity and cruelty of the so called insincere politicians and dictators who are the real enemies of the human race.
