A lot of people live through life without realizing that there are two kinds of apples, a red one, and a green one. Really, when you bite into a red apple, it tastes sweeter and juicier than the green one, which generally has a sour taste. And when you touches a red apple, it feels softer than the green apple, because red apples has thinner skin than green apples. And in fact, many people don't realize that there are around 7500 varieties of apples in this world.

This my friend, although a simple story about apples, comes to bring you realization that many people aren't very sentient in this world. Sentiency, is a word to describe the faculty of which a being uses to perceive and respond to the world surrounding him or her using the senses given to them from birth, which is the sense of sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch.

Through being more sentient, I become more aware of anything in this world. By becoming more aware, I have more wisdom in handling this huge world. As an example, by being more aware of the various road signs, I would have evaded a road accident by driving accordingly. Also, if I am more aware of the rules and regulations at a certain workplace, I am sure to not break them!

But, how do I become more sentient. Would I be needed to train my eyes to catch every detail of a painting? Should I molest every bit of, let's say my brand new car? Should I sniff senselessly of my pet dog, to know even how he smell like? Yes, my friend, this is how to become more sentient in this world, which is, definitely, observe every little details. Though you may pant thinking how hard it is to live this way, you will soon find it very rewarding when your mind is filled with experiences, in that you know what to say and what to care on just about anything!

Another manner of training our sentiency is to be mindful of the present. When you begin to let go of the past, the future, any worries, or fear, and focus on what's in front of you and enjoy them indulgently, you are being mindful, you are effectively practicing mindfulness. By practicing mindfulness, you get to enjoy every little small details about anything you're doing. Some day, you will look back and remember vividly how the air breeze was like at that old place, how the toys you had felt like to you, and what's the taste of the food you consumed is like.

Besides that, what I usually do to become more sentient is to review by the end of the experience of that something that I have just seen, touched, or done. For example, at the end of that outing, review everything that you have experience throughout the entire outing. The old friend you met just now, what he has said about you, what he has talked to you about his own life, and even the brand of the shirt he was wearing. Review about the your workday, when you got home from the office. By doing so, you form neural connections between what you have just acquired and past knowledge and experiences. Like this, you can easily connect things together. What makes this and what makes that!

That's it, all about how to be more sentient. Remember, a sentient being is a wise one. He or she knows how to go about anything, because he or she is well experienced!
