Your silence is not welcome

enough is enough

Silence speaks volumes.

It seeps through the actions, the support, the marches, and holds the hand of the oppressor.

Silence stings in violence, dripping in anti-blackness.

A decision to be a vicious bystander. Ignorance is not bliss. Silence is not golden.

When tears and bloodshed of your black sisters and brothers are twisted into criminal acts, there’s no room to hide in the shadows.

When your country gives you the privilege to have a voice, shake the air so hard that the foundation of injustice begins to crack.

When a part of your community does not have the choice to just pray for change, do not linger in the shadows of silence. Your prayer is not enough.

Engage in the uncomfortable. Be humble and willing to learn.

Stand with your black brothers and sisters and protect them with your voice. Your privilege.

Challenge your leaders.

Be vigilant.

Racism cannot be drowned in silence any longer.

There is no neutral in this.

Never stop showing up.

“It is certain, in any case, that ignorance, allied with power, is the most ferocious enemy justice can have.” - James Baldwin
