Words to a friend

Words to a child

Words to a parent

Those who walk the extra mile.

Your heart will need a shield

For all the pain you may receive

Know in your heart

That I will never leave.

A storm may come one day

And fill your life with rain.

Just stand inside my arms

Let me stop the pain.

Your heart will need a sword

To fight off the heartaches

Trust in me

I’ll do whatever it takes.

When this world tries

To send you to your knees

Let me help you

And put your mind at ease.

So, let me be your shield

Let me be your sword.

For all that I may do

You are my reward.
