Your Nightly Rituals

Hushed voices

wavering under midnight

Syncopating mating rituals

over power lines

Desperate sighs

Playful decrees

I can hear everything

On my tiny little island of unbecoming

Its become a nightly ritual

Future rendezvous

Health care plans

Kids

All piercing through the pillows

I suffocate myself with

I've been on the mend

Crawling through the days

with razor glass and fanning flames

caressing my belly

Endeavoring to breath

Remnants of the poison apple

Falling from my mouth

I never wanted to know about it

It should have been discreet

I never wanted to see it

Away from sleepless eyes

I never wanted to hear it

This cavalcade away from restless ears

It should not have been

In our home

And I understand

A fault not of your own

There is no blame

No regret or guilt

No arms waving above the waves

As water takes its fill

Your future may look brighter

through the touch screen of your romance

If you agree

Please cremate me

from the noose hanging around your neck

So the movements you display

For new lovers

Is perfectly poised

And I can gather to the wind

To be sent to haunt lonely shores

Serrating across my last breaths

heartbreak
