You Will Not Forget Me

Remember

Tired of being on the sidelines,

Watching everything pass by.

Feeling lost and forgotten within time,

Placing blame on the ones who made me

Feel this way.

Sticking out my hand

To feel again.

That was the moment I broke through,

Here I am.

Something new to begin

In which I let out all truth.

Watch what you do or say

I have a way,

With words.

I will no longer place myself on standby.

I will not lie.

I’ll spill out what has been held on to.

I’m no one's second choice,

I’m not on the side,

Nor able to be put on the back burner,

Not any longer.

Again I will not lie.

I’ll take the time,

To design each of my rhymes,

So that you can read my poetry and see.

That I am something you’ve missed out on.

Here’s to creating my own family,

My own way of life,

Creating a world that would most certainly notice if I were gone.

No longer on the sidelines,

I am playing my own parts.

Just like in football,

I will tackle,

Every thought.

Using my talent to display me like art.

You will not forget me.
