You brought me peace

I dreamt of you last night.

Your smile made the whole scene so bright it could’ve been blinding

Your soft spoken words eased the anxieties on my mind

The way your hand grazed my cheek brought chills to my being.

I followed you to the ends of my imagination and we sat and lost all concepts of time in this dream world.

The laughs and smiles and head on shoulder moments spelled out such peace within my soul.

You came to me last night and eased the pain of your absence on this planet. The very pain I can’t seem to be rid of with my eyes open.

What felt like years in my mind you brought me the joy of having you back for the night.

You told me that everything is going to be okay, that soon you will have the peace that you need to be resting easily amongst the stars.

You told me of the bliss that you are chasing, of the peace you have made with the things you had no chance to change.

You come and go while my eyes are open, you bring calmness when i am agitated and leave traces of your presence to remind me your soul may be gone from the flesh but your soul is still here with those of us who cared so deeply for you.

And now I only see your brightness in old photos before your light was slowly starting to dim.

We only feel your warmth in our sleep or when you visit through our days.

The sweet memories keep us smiling even in the toughest days we face.

As we grow and take from your example we push to preserve your smile and love in every step we take for the rest of our time here before we meet you again in the state of bliss and ease.
