World, why are you beating yourself up?

The sun still shines

World, why are you beating yourself up?

You're more and more corrupt from within.

The heat of your bombs are no joke any longer,

and you know they'll never make you stronger.

World, why are you beating yourself up?

Brother gunning down brother, sister stabbing sister.

It's literally a bloody shame,

as through all the agony, there is no gain.

World, why are you beating yourself up?

Newly orphaned children, run starving in the streets.

Criminals, police the innocently violent,

and no one - I mean no one - knows who they represent.

Look up and find refuge,

look down, and crush pride.

Notice who's still close by your side.

World, why are you beating yourself up?
