Woeful Children;

My heart is aching for all the little ones

Whose mommies and daddies have no funds

Not because they can’t find a way

But because of the things they instead pay

//

Clothes ripped and tattered everywhere

Because some people will not take the blame to bare

Gambling, smoking, drugs, and booze

But whose life besides theirs matter to lose?

//

The responsibility for their children

Is quickly put aside for worldly sin

Never the blame should be theirs

When their children get woeful stares

//

They wonder why their habits should be put on hold

Before their house must be sold

All because they started something they thought they could quit

Now all their children look and act sick

//

I pray every night for the neglected

Who feel from everyone so rejected

As a little special boy who can barely spit out a sentence

Wonders why some young guy is the only one who shows him patience

//

Cause his eyes that shine so bright

Even in the brink of night

Should not have to face a mother’s rejection

He did not for his family have a chance for selection

//

Show kindness

Because even if someone shows you no likeness

They still deserve to grow as you did

And have fun being a little kid

//

As he grows more responsibility will be put on his shoulders

As the pain inside of him grows and smolders

An unavoidable confrontation will soon follow

As he realizes he is not to blame for his sorrow

//

No matter how much I rant and fume

More kid’s dreams will continue to meet doom

So I hope you listen and realize as you read

That every decision you make now will affect your future need

//

Special kids are just like you

You don’t know the life that they are being put through

So never judge them by their brains or how they talk

Because you have no idea the road they have had to walk
