Sonnet 184 – Willie E.
The warrior hath said his last good-bye.
Lean, proud, and tall; he stood until the end.
Along his path, the countless doth deny,
Yet with his might, his virtue wouldst transcend.
From humblest of beginnings, he didst start.
A battle to succeed took place each day.
Each set-to but a test unto his heart.
Each victory, a leap along his way.
His visage looming large o’er the landscape,
His mind and perseverance razor keen.
His vision for the future soon took shape,
He shuddered at the thought- ‘what might have been.’
We sadly, proudly, lay his soul to rest,
His like is rare; he stands among the best.
