Why Do I Love You?

Emotions are complicated

I have hated you for so long

You have treated me with so much contempt

You have been poison

A toxin

Arsenic

Your bitter almond has coursed through my veins

Stopping my heart

Stopping my breath

Invading my mind

Violating my self

So why do I love you?

I hate everything about you

You treat me like the enemy

The other side of World War III

Then try to turn the tables on me

You are the instigator

The terminator

A violent force of nature

You have pulled me down

Thrown me around

Chided me

Blinded me

Done everything you could to deny me

So why do I love you?

Why do I cling to you?

Why do I still care?
