Why Can’t We Be Friends?

A Divided World

Why can’t we be friends?

When did we become so divided?

Why can’t we get along?

Why are we so quick to judge?

Why does having a different opinion lead to marginalization?

Why can’t we be nice to each other?

Or at least polite to each other?

When did we start taking other opinions as a personal affront?

Why can’t we try to walk in someone else’s shoes?

Why is our way always right?

Why can’t we accept that we are wrong sometimes?

Why can’t we forgive?

Why can’t we find compromises?

Why do we speak before we think?

Why can’t we work together to find solutions?

Why can’t we listen to each other?

Why can’t we have compassion for each other?

Why can’t we learn to turn the other cheek?

Why can’t we be good sports and not rub it in when we win?

Why can’t we be good sports and congratulate the winner when it isn’t us?

Why do we not think for ourselves?

Who decided mud slinging was easier than coming up with well thought out points and evidence?

Why do we make rash decisions before thinking of the consequences?

Why don’t we care if our words are hurtful?

How come we value power over peace?

Why do we demonize each other over small things?

Why can’t we accept that other people might have valid ideas?

Why do we write off someone’s beliefs so quickly?

Where did common sense go?

When did we forget how to act with common courtesy?

When did hate towards each other become fashionable?

How is name calling useful or constructive?

Why don’t we respect each other anymore?

Why do we lie to each other?

Why don’t we smile at each other?

When did we stop being empathetic?

When did it become one size fits all?

Why can’t we have diverse thoughts and opinions and still come up with ways to work alongside each other?

For that matter why can’t two people who are different work alongside each other?

Why is it my way or the highway?

Why do we anger easily?

Why can’t we try to find the good in others?

Why do we hide behind our screens?

Why can’t we agree to disagree?

Why do we talk behind other people’s backs

When did revenge become popular?

And mercy become unusual?

When did ridiculing become normality?

Why does it have to be this way?

Why?
