Who Did She Want to Be?

She Rose

Who did she really want to be?

An entertainer? Nurse? Humanitarian?

She’s 26 years old asking herself this question.

Why now?

Cause she never thought about it when she was younger.

She got her High School Diploma.

She even got her bachelor’s degree.

Currently, we’re talking about the present, so let’s go back a bit.

Will you go back with her?

The first decade of her life she cannot describe.

The only memory that comes to mind is blood, tears, screams, and pain.

A pillow over her head, both arms and legs held locked together.

She couldn’t escape and her screams would never be heard.

Death was around the corner waiting, but Life decided to keep her.

Second decade, she can describe as there being some good times, but this is when her anger began to grow.

It was always she had an attitude.

It was always she made a comment at the wrong time.

She had no talent.

It was always she was lazy, ignorant, but she gets good grades then she got all the praise.

She was claimed to be a devil’s child. She was blamed for stealing from family that already knew she would never.

She never felt enough.

She never felt herself.

She never grasped her own personality.

She always felt shunned; always knew she was different from the other kids.

She related with a few that are her backbones of today, but back then it felt like the world was caving in.

She knew nothing of herself.

The truth would soon come to conspire only more pain.

She was a nobody and had nothing.

An orphan.

She wanted role models.

The women in her life taught her as much they could, but men dominated everything.

No man wanted to show her anything.

No boys ever really took an interest in her.

She taught herself to only depend on herself.

She believes that she can never love, but she can show that she cares.

She does not want to feel anymore pain or told anymore lies.

Her belief in faith is wary.

Now, here she is on this present day.

As she’s writing this story for you to read, she still can’t tell you what she really wanted to be.
