White Room
without a view
As predicted
I’ve been convicted of feeling sick in the head
I wish you’d put me to bed
So, I can wake up in sheets
made of satin and honey sweet dreams
caused by the pills that put me to sleep
Circular walls to enclose me with infinite pads
Warm, soft robes and clothes help to bury the sad
And maybe, just maybe, being crazy won’t be so bad
I always assumed everyone could write
Thoughts unboxed when we turn out the lights
Releasing creatures featured to howl and growl in the darkness of night
But with my arms restricted, my weapons evicted, I can’t put up a fight
So, when they come, and I’m unable to run
Shield me from their eyes, and
To those that say, the pen is mightier than the sword, I say you’re right
My pen and paper has become my savior
Inside my mind, a room all white
