When Twilight Bleeds
It bleeds just for me

I do not own this photo.
When twilight bleeds
An ombré red
That weeps
At the horizon’s seam,
It really feels like
The sky is crying
Just for me.
Like I’m caught
In an old scene,
Deep in the forest
Of your hard-fought memories
And I’m trying everything
To stem my wounds
From seeping
More and more
Because of you.
But when the crimson fades
From my fixated gaze
And the night falls
Into its bloodless place…
My broken glass lungs
Inhale grace
And you slip
From the tip
Of my tongue
And into the cage
In the back
Of my brain
Where you have
Always belonged.
