What's Truly Important?

A "Dancing with Distraction" Acrostic

Did I forget to tell you?

I love you more than anything.

Sometimes life gets in the way

Today is no exception

Right now, I’m pulled thin

Answering emails, drafting proposals

Consumed by spreadsheets and sales

Tricked into never-ending responsibilities

It took a while, but I finally understand now

Only thing more important than you?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I love this so much, Ahna! I felt this one and think the juxtaposition of the distractions that life brings and the singular focus of deep love is brilliant! Thank you for sharing this with us 🥰

  • Awww, this was so sweet! At times we'd just have too much on our plate but nothing is more important than that person!

A sweet poem, and also a compelling reminder.

  • "The cat's in the cradle & the silver spoon, the little boy blue & the man in the moon...." May our children grow up to be just like us, knowing that nothing is more important to a parent than their child.

This is so good Ahna! We all get too easily distracted and forget our priorities! Thank you for this! It’s written so beautifully!

  • Lovely, Amazing, and full of positivity💖📝🎯

  • This was awesome. The best advice of all the advice I ever got about marriage and love was to stop every so often and buy flowers at a grocery store for no reason. This poem perfectly describes how life can make us forget to do the small but important things like saying I love you more than anything. Well done Ahna
