What is love?

Love is a loaded gun

A safe combination

in the hands of the person you want to be the one

It's your deepest darkest secrets

Exposed to one

Love is forgiveness for what has been done

Love is sacrifice and bad habits undone

Love is like feeling the warmth of the sun

The beating of your heart like a drum

Sweaty palms

Distractiona and heartache

Joy and bliss

Time seemingly ceasing to exist

For love is all this

It's being exalted

Yet it's also falling

The deepest vulnerability

For love can make or break

Lift and transcend

Or lead to a tragic ened

What is love

It's everything

And can come in a moments notice

And dissipate like a summers breeze

Or return sudden as a sneeze

What is love

It's our conscious connecting with

ourselves, our past, present and future

It’s hope, fear and despair

It's the human experience

Part of the reason we are here

To live a life without love I wouldn't dare

For love is as necessary as water or air

But just like with water

proceed with caution and care

For sometimes illusions, agendas and ulterior motives pollute the air

And you can't force or create a love that was never there

But when love is true and pure

When it grows and matures

And in neither a new toy nor a chore

That's when it endures

And becomes something more

A taste of eternity, a glimpse into heaven

An array of endless lessons

So ask me what is love

And I'll tell you it's the reason we exist!
