A Pandemic Poem

Right now we’re being

Cautious and callous

Respectful and resentful

Patient and painful

But it just doesn’t matter

Half the world wants to help, the other doesn’t care

Whether you want a haircut or why your kid won’t share

Everything is crazy now and we just need to be

Nicer so we can be free..

Opposing forces like never before

Lose the battle win the war

It’s been a year of shame and hate

History repeats a world of fate.

Disappointment in society

Being better than we can see

Purposefully exposing our hearts

Leads to limitations.

When will we ever go back to normal?

Will gatherings ever again be casual?
