What I Know

A Poem

What I Know

I’ve slowly come to know the hindrance

Of why we ward each other off

It’s to make ourselves escape the stigma

And fit in with the rest

But my curiosity increases more and more

Every single time I look at you

So I’m torn between waiting patiently

And taking action for myself

It’s not really my style

But I don’t know how long I can wait

Will this go on forever?

Or will I have a first date?

This envelope is where I keep all of my secrets

It’s my box of unspoken words

You and I are the only ones who know what’s inside

This I know because I can see it in your eyes

Only time will tell what will come

What I know now is that you’re my one
