Wandering Soldier

A New Leaf #12

Wandering down a road not a clue where it goes

trying hard to keep myself right up on my toes

who knows if I'll turn out as good as my dream but

this life is not too bad so far it seems

I'm a wandering soldier on my own battlefield

trying my best to keep a hold of my shield

this war that's in my mind might last my whole life so I'll

keep wandering 'till I find what's wrong and what's right

Found myself in my own good company

the journey never ends as far as I can see

missing some friends but I don't care anymore

forgot all about them when I walked out the door

I'm a wandering soldier

wish I never told her

she might have stayed true had I

stopped looking for something new

Made a pit stop I think about halfway

keeping track of every single word that I say

took a few wrong roads but as everyone learns

you just got to know this journey comes with some turns
