Walk with Age

Walk with Age

When I walked,

I was alone.

Not knowing that,

Age was walking along.

When I walked with age,

I thought it will be all sage.

Not knowing that age has many phases,

Like one book many pages.

Age and me, when walked together.

The innocence, the glitter, the passion,

Was supposed to stay together.

When wickedness came,

Clad in cryptic shame.

Innocence lost its name.

And passion,

Became a victim of name and fame.

Bafflement rose in the game,

As childhood was put ablaze on the flame.

I kept wondering,

Whether to chase fame,

Or put age in custody of claim.

The thing was not their usual same.

But I had my set roots,

Which had set my route?

The root taught me to stay,

Escaping is easy,

But I should slay.

Now I have a vision bright,

And I have aged with me to fight.

Trust me, its no more a plight.

Because self-discovery is beyond wrong and right.

Now I am not afraid of age's blow.

Because with age,

Looks may wither,

But wisdom grows.

Maybe fast, may be slow,

But growing with age is a cool gusto.
