Vivienne screams

A story about covid.

By Veronica Valentine Published 3 years ago 1 min read

Vivienne screams and the world falls apart.

A world of tossed toys, empty schools and yellow tape outside.

“When the virus goes away..” she says once when the world is taped back together.

Then she stops, she looks and her hair is a mess.

Thrashed about as another test is thrust down her nose.

Outside the quarantine the city is blown about in the cool spring wind.

“When can go onto the street?” She asks me.

It’s hard being four.
